How to optimize my affiliate website?

Question, let's say I found a highly searched keyword in the camping niche and I wanted to create a review website to tunnel a visitor into my affiliate link. Also, there is a possibility I can get the exact match domain of that specific keyword.

Option #1: Would it be better to create a general camping review website "campingreviews.com" and then have one page of that targeted keyword "napoleon BBQ review" , so that way I can find other camping related profitable keywords to do other pages for?

Or

Option #2 Would it be better to get the exact match domain and create a website specifically around this one product napoleonBBQreviews.com

I feel that #1 is better, but option #2 I can have a more diverse network, EG: camping, skincare, software, ect.. I still feel exact match domains have power. What are your thoughts?

^^all keywords were just examples^^

Hi! I think it depends on your objectives.

The option 1 will give you more opportunities in the long term because you can expand on different brands and content within that niche.

Option 2 will probably help you rank better for that particular brand if you have the right content. But you will limit yourself to that brand. Think in the long term, what if they stop selling it, or they close their affiliate programme?

    Good luck!

What is your end goal for the site?
Another option is to do both

I would have to say quick cash, not a long term blog idea.

Find a high paying affiliate, then create a website around that product, probably a review blog. then optimize the page for keywords where people are ready to buy.

goal is to rank for a (keyword + review) or (keyword vs keyword + review)
