This is true, if you are bidding on CPC, you can back out a CPM. But, according to me CPC bidding makes a fairer atmosphere for the advertisers as compared to the CPM. Basically, CPM advertisers accept all the risks.

The publishers get paid for getting their ad on the page. Most of the publishers do not care in case someone clicks or sees their ads ever. This is quite easy to produce false impression by performing certain things such as including 1*1 frame on the page. Whereas, in CPC the complete risk will split amongst the publisher and advertiser. It is an ideal as the publishers have an incentive in order to produce the ads in a position to be clicked regularly, and the advertisers just pay for the leads that will be coming to their sites.

Anyone can click the links and produce false links but I feel i.e. little bit more tough than producing false impressions. The incentive of everyone align with the CPC, the publishers get paid for sending leads to their landing page of the advertiser but is not held hostage to the site converting of advertiser site.

Well to be honest, CPM is great if someone is willing to pay you for eyeballs or views for stuff like branding and visibility etc. But from an affiliate's or a direct advertiser's perspective promoting CPA offers, I find it a lot easier to pay per click instead of per 1000 views as it's just a lot easier to measure and track.

I agree but often find that many sites favor the cpm model and sometimes even make it cheaper to go that route assuming you have a decent Ctr

I prefer CPM but i may be a bit biased i actually think CPM is advantageous to both the pub and affiliate but that could be just the way our network is set up as we wanna make sure both parties make profit using it because then we profit as well

CPM and CPC are two sides of the same general advertising coin. They're both payment schemes relating to how you spend your money and what you get out of it. CPC is cost per click. You pay for clicks; ads shown to people who don't click are free. CPM is cost per mille, per thousand. The thousands refers to impressions. Showing your ad to someone costs you money, regardless of whether or not they click.

My earnings are higher with CPM. Pop ads and and interstitial ads from Ad Maven generate my higher and stable earnings than CPC/CPA.

It depends on what sites you promoting and how many visitors you have. If there are more than ,let`s say...100k visitors- you can work on CPM. If you have less- CPC will be better.
Besides, putting banners on your websites doesnt make you worry if ppl will ever pay attention to ads on a site. A person visited the page - money earned!
