    Your own site, ideally.

But if you want to crank out a few articles and publish them, say, tomorrow, then using a site such as eblogger would be the best route. You can make money off the articles, but you no longer own the content. Using adwords is limiting yourself, because you are only limiting your content to one source of revenue.

You own the content of whatever you or your users publish on a site that you own. Generally.

You can use several monetization strategies to maximize your profits from your content rather than just relying on adsense. You can use affiliates. Setup a small shop. Sell advertising space-- once you get the traffic.

If you choose to run your own site, then you need to buy a domain. I recommend either name.com , godaddy, or hostgator.

To publish content, one route would be to use a content management system such as wordpress or Drupal. (bias towards Drupal, --not recommended for noobs though.) You can enable users to publish content, too.

    To get started,
Godadddy and hostgator can automatically install a cms to speed up your development time. There is a learning curve, however. Your first Drupal or Wordpress site will probably not look very good, at least, not without doing your homework first.

Own site = lots of work, but you own the content. You can resell the domain and content.

On someone else's blog site = instant gratification, nice looking UI, but you no longer own your content. (read the fine print)

    good luck

Which blog are you talking about here? Is it the free blogs or a blog you will install on your hosting?

As to my experience, blog is good for SEO because it easily ranks in search engines especially if it is updated in a regular basis. In fact, I even tried posting some PLR articles just to check if it will still rank and yes it does with the help of some social media websites.

I believe that you should create your own site and do the SEO for it. I heard that doing SEO on your own site is better than on the other hosted blog services.

For what you're doing it sounds like you want to post the articles on your own sites blog first. Then link to it from other blogger sites or post your articles on article sites.

You can absolutely host several domains on one host. I use hostgator's baby plan personally, but any host that allows "unlimited addon domains" will do.

        Best of luck!

There's no fixed rules to say which is better. If you have a blog at blogger.com which generates 100k page views, does SEO matters? Not really.

You got to provide some value to your readers in whatever niche you are working on. The blog/website is just a vehicle to help you make more money. Also since you are newbie, a few mistakes (inexpensive) are fine... then you know what dun work...

I think self-hosted Wordpress blogs are better for SEO. There are some great built-in functionalities (tags, pings, rss) and you can use plugins (All In One SEO and Google Sitemap Gen.) to maximize SEO.

You can own your own site, AND let it be a blog. Just install Wordpress (from wordpress.ORG) and you now own your own blog.

As far as multiple domains on one hosting account, the term varies, but VPS (virtual private server) is the most common term. Hostgator, 1&1, etc almost all the major hosting companies offer VPS.... and many of them offer one-click wordpress installs too.

If you aren't overly technical, you can go to wordpress.COM and get a blog through them, but your web address will be of the form yourname.wordpress.com so you lose the brand you're trying to establish but is simple to use, and upgrades are handled by them.

If you host it yourself, you can choose any theme or plugin you want, while a hosted blog will only allow you to install the themes/plugins that they allow/provide.

Hope that helps you on your way, Jerry

    Matt
