What happened to the whole one cent impressions?

One thing I noticed is that if I bid on a term and someone is already there I match. I thought, ok we'll share the traffic and keep costs down.

Nope in every term some have gone from very low to 1.00+ in a few hours LOL.

I am not sure if this indicates people a making money or if this is because of all the people using it now.

I've used PPV for yrs sparingly. How people act sure has changed.

TIP: If someone finds your keyword and doesn't overbid you don't get hostile and start a bidding war LOL. All you are doing is drawing attention to that keyword, while just letting people match they are more likely to drop off and stop using if they do not see results.

A bidding war doesn't scare people off.

I have noticed this too, I usually match the bid going by the same principle as you.

I believe there is an automatic script out there the will automatically overbid your bid.

I set one bid to 3.00 and I was overbid shortly after that. Of course I dropped mine back to .01 after that

That's pretty bad. You are not getting the benefit there, if the bids are getting that high. you just have to do some legwork and find other urls or keywords that will not get as high bids but are equally as valuable to you. It's all about tracking...

I just think if I simply match I am showing a non hostile bidding practice. I am there, I understand my competitor wants to test me by raising the bid, but when I match consistently the message should be clear that I am serious about not going anywhere, and that since I am not overbidding them that I am not trying to take them out.

I'll eventually destroy the keyword if they refuse to let me in, but I perfectly fine in sharing. I just wish people could clue in quicker because both of us leave lots on the table when jacking the bids up for no reason. I'm going to match regardless.

This is why Ive gave up PPV for the time being. It was getting as expensive as Google. Soon as the 'Gurus' blabbed about it, game over.

youre joking right? cpv is no where near as expensive as google,i can bid on insurance keywords for 0.10cpv on google you would be paying at least $20cpc

Has anyone seen good conversions in terms of sales with PPV traffic or only CPA kind of offers will work with this traffic? I am curious as most of the time people seem to promote just CPA offers with it?

By the way, does list building work with PPV traffic? Will the list be responsive and can I expect a few buyers in that list instead of just freebie seekers?

As for the costs getting higher, I think the best strategy whether in PPC or in PPV (if costs do get higher) is to go after less popular niches. Sure you will have less traffic, but you can enter many niches simultaneously and can earn a little in each one.

The total amount can be more than what you will earn focusing on just 1 or 2 big niches. But as long as the PPV costs are minimal, you can focus on the big niches. As the costs climb up (which is very likely), it is better to switch your strategy. What is the opinion of the PPV or PPC experts on this? I would love to know your perspective.

I would have to agree. Check your bid amounts, and you may also want to do a deeper keyword search to find hidden nuggets that are not over-bought. I just started to dabble in the PPV/CPV world, and I am impressed with the amount of traffic that I am getting for the money. I am still trying to tweak my sites to increase my conversion rate.

A lot of people are starting to jump on to the CPV wagon.
It's probably best to start with smaller networks that have a chance of getting really big.
I've noticed a lot of ads lately for DirectCPV and i've been checking out reviews on google. The reviews all seem fairly positive, and the main page is advertising their bid price starting at $0.01

    That's a good idea!!
