Anyone tried selling physical products using CPV?

Hi

I'm quite new to CPV but was interested in whether it would be good for selling physical products. I was going to run a test but thought I'd ask here first in case I was just throwing $$$ away :-)

thanks!

Oh, if anyone has but doesn't want to publicly disclose, but is willing to just give me a heads up, maybe you could PM me?

    Much appreciated

cpv is nice, but if only you know how to do it. It makes money.

Converting physical products with CPV/PPV traffic is a little trickier. One thing that can work is to see if your merchant can offer a coupon/discount code. Then, you would create a landing page focusing on the coupon you were offering. Just make sure the physical product you want to promote accepts this type of traffic.

Thank you. I think I might do a lot of testing with various offers first. The discount code sounds like a good idea. I guess otherwise it would have to be a two step process, building a mailing list first.

Can you recommend any good products that really go into media buying etc that isn't related to or heavy on the CPA networks?

    thanks!

Do you mean a product that teaches you how to promote physical products with CPV traffic, or what actual products to sell on CPV traffic?

No, not necessarily (a product to teach me to sell) physical prods, just something to give me greater insight into the process and leads gained from it, the mindset of the traffic. I just have no sense of it. All other forms of online advertising free and paid I can pretty much put myself in the shoes of the people it is aimed at, but cpv and media buying is a bit of a mystery to me :-) Everything I have seen so far seems really brief, or just so focused in using it in relation to cpa, and that doesn't really interest me. I think if I could get a clearer sense of the media networks I could formulate a good way to sell physical prods, whether that is directly or indirectly (2 step selling). I did briefly see some new product out in pre-release but that was still about $200, and I've already been spending enough this month without dishing out another $200 right now :-)

        thanks

With CPV traffic you really need to learn about the demographics of your target audience. What I would do is research the product you are thinking of selling. Find out who is buying that product...is it Males? Females? Young? Old? etc. Once you know more about your demographic, you would then look for sites that catered to that demographic to put your ad on or target.

I just bought your WSO. I think that may answer some of my questions!

Excellent, thank you. That gives me a 'way in' to access the target audience.
