First look at what sections have the traffic and then find an offer that fits in with what people are already looking for. Then you have to try different offers. It comes down to testing.

          Hi,

You could post an ad in some area of your choice. Create a special page on your site that the ad points to, preferably for some free offer, as suggested. Install a hidden stats counter on the page (use a service such as statcounter.com, which is free). Then check your stats to see what kind of traffic you're getting.

If you post ads in several different categories, when you check your stats you will be able to tell which categories pull better.

If you want to know where people go on a particular site or where they come from, then use alexa.com and check the traffic details.

For example, if you are wondering which cities visit craigslist the most you'd type in:

And scroll down and you'll see a short list of cities. Click on the "more details" link to get more details

You can replace the domain name at the end of the link "http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/youdomanname.com" to quickly find stats.

            Hope this helps

Stuff such as Banner Ad in Classified sites..

Why don't you advertise or promote products you are already familiar with?

Dating products work better with e-whoring.
What works great for me is "selling my laptop".

Then I tell them a story on how I got my laptop/insert aff link where they need to submit info to get a free laptop and boom.

        Still works great for me.

I'm not trying to be dumb, it comes naturally. But you put up an ad "selling my laptop" and then send them to your webpage with link to try to get a free laptop? What do you mean "then I tell them a story"?

          Thanks,

          Bob

I think he's doing the ol' autoresponder trick. Create a Gmail account or similar, setup the autoresponder/vacation function and make the message about how you got the laptop/your affiliate link.

They reply to your ad, you automatically reply with the story/affiliate link, they complete the offer, you make money. Completely automated process - you may want to contact your affiliate manager before doing this though.

Just about any physical product. Physical products sell great on the classifieds.
Checkout LinkShare & CJ to find the products. Or dropshippers.

LOL...I use to always use that black hat method. Not as effective today but was great marketing!

Try promoting something like project payday where you get paid just for putting your name and email in.
I've had good results promoting low cost products from clickbank, and also unique things such as run your car on water or 'pc on your tv'
    Hope this helps

My clients seem to be getting lots of responses in almost any niche.
Image ads get the first clicks and then a powerful ad that is clickable helps.

So do you put the ads in the for sale section?

I like the sound of the laptop trick. I was going to do something simular with a adult dating site.

If you are still looking for ideas, I have some of my affiliates that are having success with auto finance lead type with classified ads. Our company has no problem with using these classified sites as long as the affiliate is following the rules of the classified site (and I don't think misleading the consumer is a good thing to do).
            Good luck!

Health, Wealth or Relationships. Always focus on these 3 main verticals. Try diet, dating or biz opp offers from a CPA network.
