Outside US Marketers and the FTC Guidelines

Hello,

I'v read a lot about the new FTC Guidlines but it's still unclear to me how this rules affect marketers for example from europe. Do marketers from overseas have to take care of these regulations and does the FTC have any jurisdiction over overseas marketers?

I'm not going to completly ignore these guidelines but i would be really glad if somebody can clarify that.

    If a message is being transmitted into the united states, or from the united states, the guidelines are applicable and must be followed. Although there hasn't been a lot of rulings w/ regard to the new rules, its better to err on the side of caution, given that it is not clear how rigidly the FTC will enforce these rules

      Thanks for the info. I always thought the FTC has no jurisdiction in the UK or Germany.
