if i am offering a ebook bonus for a trial is this considered insentivised traffic or is it just if you offer them money?

    Giving money or exchanging of signups for anything like comment posting, ebooks, PR links etc... they all fall under incentives. I would say to avoid such kind of signups.

    However, to add a twist to this method, if email marketing is allowed, you can email your affiliate link to that user in exchange for an ebook. But again you cannot 'force' him too signup from the link in the email.

    This definitely falls under incentive traffic. You are offering something of value to the subscriber if they sign up for the trial offer. You may only run this kind of traffic if the CPA offer specifically allows it. (Highly doubtful for trial offers)

    Incentive traffic rarely converts for the advertisers running the offers. The customers signing up with an incentive has no interest in the trial. This means that they will cancel the trial or won't upgrade in the future. Advertisers rely on a certain percentage to upgrade, this is the only way they can afford such high payouts.
