Do you use PPV to get opt-ins on a simple landing page?

I was thinking of testing a pop in PPV on targeted sites where I would create a really simple landing page, offering a free report or something with email opt-in. Then, right after the sign up, send them to a possible CPA offer.

Of course, once they have signed up, give them some good content via email such as articles, links to articles that will have some Adsense mixed in (or CPA) and maybe affiliate promotion.

That way, I can market more than just once and really stretch out what I pay initially to make money on the backend.

Do any of you do this with something very simple like this, like a very simple landing page giving away a free report?

    I personally find that with PPV traffic my landing opt-in pages have to be either really flashy, or outrageously ugly to grab attention.

    Hey Dayne,

    I have actually used PPV to build a list by giving away a free report. From my experience I found that simple landing pages work better then really flashy ones. Make sure your call to action e.g. Enter your email here to... is very clear for the user, make sure the user knows how they will benefit from entering their email address. Also I have found by split testing that asking the user for just their email address instead of their name and email, got me better conversions.

    Hope this helps.

      But doesn't list with names convert better then without?

    With PPV traffic opt-in landing pages are preferable , if you can design highly powerful and compelling landing page .

    I've tried this in the golf niche in the past. I had good conversions and a sizable list that I now send broadcasts to periodically.

    I plan to do another campaign for my free affiliate marketing ecourse. I have a "how to use plr" report that I will be offering as well.

    Any suggestions for this niche (cost/lead, etc.) would be appreciated as well.

    @zoobie

    You can use the most known:

    TrafficVance
    MediaTraffic
    LeadImpact
    AdOnNetwork

    There are also smaller networks too, but you better start with the ones that have a solid reputation

    Both work well, in some niches either will work better

    Keep this in mind...when promoting anything via PPV...you must think of "instant gratification"...if you set up your landing pages according to this, your traffic will convert very well.

      Yes - I use CPV traffic for list building. However...

      the key to getting someone to opt-in or take any other action is relevance.

      Relevance = targeted

      Every bit of what you do has to be relevant to the reader. The subject line, the headline, the ad copy, the benefits, the bonus, the outcome, the yata,yata,...

      CPV Landing Page Example:

      Target Niche - Dog Training
      Headline - "Free Dog Training Manual"
      Ad Copy - Sign-up for our free dog training newsletter and get a free dog training manual sent directly to your email address immediately upon sign-up.
      Opt-in Button Text - "Send me the Free Dog Training Manual"
      Opt-in Thank You Page - Display an ad for a complimentary dog training product
      AR Series - Send offers for complimentary dog training products

      Do you see how every thing is relevant and highly targeted?

      Regards,

      John

    Yea, CPV could be really good traffic source for building your list pretty fast.
    But you gotta make lot of split testing at your landing page and several landing page layout to make sure you got pretty good CTR. There's plenty information about ppv landing page guidelines at internet, you can starts learn from there

    Do you put the opt in directly in the popup or just a link to a squeeze page?
