Any luck with CPA and Banner Ads on Google Content Network?

I was just curious if any of you have had luck posting banner ads on the Google Content Network that go to CPA offers. There are some big sites on there with big traffic, but was wondering if you had success with it.

Also, can you direct link your banner ads on Google Content network with CPA?

I may give it a few test runs.

Are you just referring to AdWords with image banners specifically and not text based PPC campaigns?

Yes, image banners only on the content network. Not search.

I've been trying on and off. I can't seem to understand it though. Google will turn on content network traffic for some of my campaigns but others will have zero traffic. To date the best campaign that ran from the content network I was getting 2 cent clicks all day from a very nice big website. Since then I changed some stuff and google has turned off all traffic altogether. And yes I know the basics, 50 or less keywords per group, each adgroup operates on a theme, etc.

The more you focus on what you want, the more you'll get what you want.

Does Google still let you direct link to an affiliate URL in the content network?

Leave Google, find other traffic sources. Start with Media Buys instead

Not with direct linking but googles banner ad server converts really well. I get way better conversions out of my banner ads than I do with any other traffic I use.

Only in content network and even then its been sporadic. Traffic conversion for me on affiliate offers has been in the 1-2% range vs. a typical 5-8% with the text-based adwords.

An example of this is, I just launched my new mobile affiliate seminar. I had 39,109 impression on content network with 84 conversions. Three ended up contacting me. That was in text-based advertising. Graphic based advertising, 11,012 impressions with 2 conversions. No contact.

If you are going to do graphic ads - make sure you do it with a brand name (i.e. a well known dating site, a tax software offer etc). Don't do it with a zip submit offer. Even the insurances don't convert as well in the banner space vs. the text space. Unless you have the Prog. Girl or the Gecko...you won't see conversions that have value.

          Hello Jack,

When you are talking about text based adwords do you mean using text ads on the content network or are you talking about Google search?

Exactly why I want to use Google for this. Testing. I tried direct linking to a CPA offer with a banner ad the company supplies but it got "disapproved".

Do you think it is from direct linking it? I actually used a Tracking202 link.

Google can be such a pain in the a$$.

What I hate is they say it is "disapproved" and says it does not meet editorial guidelines. WHY don't they point out what PART of the guidelines it does not meet? Grrrrr
