Ok, so I am about to dive into doing CPA offers and promotions using YouTube. For those of you with experience in this, I would love your advice to help me move past the learning curve a bit faster.

What are your tips for success for good CPA videos on YouTube?

What should I avoid, and what has worked best for you?

Thanks!

Well in my limited experience heres some of the things i discovered:
    1. You can forget about contacting the video owner (in most cases) because they never reply. The only time they will reply is if they dont know how popular their video is getting.
Tip: Asking someone with a video of 100k+ views to post a link on your video will almost always end in nothing. From 50 odd people i've mailed in very specific, and even in broad niches only one replyed. The only reason i got that reply was because the video was only at 20k views.

I noticed the video had gone from 10-20k views overnight, so predicting it would continue to rise i contacted him and got a responce. A week later it was at 250k+ views.

I find its much better to pick your niche, then watch videos. See which ones are slowing down, speeding up in terms of views. If you see a link in the video or in the description then leave the video. Most likely its an affiliate link or they are trying to promote their own website/channel.

The people you want to contact (if you do at all) are people who arent internet 'savy'. For example if you see a video you like, check out their channel. If its blank with mostly crap videos except the one your after, this is your guy. He/she probably dont know what an affiliate his so increasing your chance of getting a link in that video.

Since having no luck with other peoples videos i've decided to make my own channel in a certain niche and gain a reputation. This way is slower BUT you have complete control over what happens (as long as you stay within youtube guidelines) and its free. If you are going to do it this way before you do anything think of a catchy name people will remember, then go about making your channel look professional. All i did was find a picture on google related to my niche and edit it on photoshop, add in your youtube name with a cool design and it already looks ok!

Im just starting out this way and let me tell you its slow. My best video has 54 views (in 2days) haha so you need patience. Im experimenting with new things so im on the learning curve aswell!

Where to find your videos? Well mostly i rip mine off other youtubers. Yes its not my own but i edit it. Put different music over it, add in different pictures or whatever. Even if you just straight copy it, sometimes youtube will block it, other times they wont. All depends how you want to go about it.

Hope this helped in some way, any more questions feel free to PM me it would be cool to bounce ideas off each other as im just starting aswell!

Let me know how it goes

I've had luck with making a video and then adding a few backlinks to it. It's worked well for me.

Thanks Shaun, I'm looking for marketing tips as far as promoting my OWN videos on YouTube, not buying them.

Like tips on length, what to include, what not to include, formats, to use voice or music, how to link to CPA offers, etc.

    Thanks for your response though!

Thats quite a broad question. What is your niche?

You have to ask yourself if you were watching this video and saw it was 10minutes long, would you really watch it?

Depending on what it is i get bored after around 3 minutes so i would go for that length. I dont really know how to answer the other questions without knowing your niche.

I'm also testing with YouTube and at the moment in combination with CPALead. I made a few videos and last day I got $7, let's see today...
I also think that the views are mostly important. If you made a video of a free iPad and you only get 150 views, that's nothing- but if you get 50 000 views, you can make lots of money with CPA offers.

I will tell you some things that worked for me...

Videos need to be entertaining...straight up sales pitches normally dont work
Be creative and funny to work your marketing message and call to action into the context of your video
Make the headline very catchy, perhaps controversial...there are soo many people on YouTube looking to argue...comments are what you want
Entice the visitor without ever letting them know you are hard selling them. Make them have to click your link to figure out what you are talking about.

And yes, its a marketing channel of numbers. Conversion wont be great so you need volume. Volume in views and volume of videos. Results will snowball if you persistently create.

    Good luck
