If I try targeted web hits what is a good number of hits to start with?

I just had a simple question I think....I am looking into buying targeted web traffic for a few niches and seeing how it goes. I realize testing is important but I don't know what a good test is. How many hits should I start with? I am just trying this simply at first to get some knowledge of how this stuff works so if I use a sales landing page and buy 10,000 hits that are targeted to something like deb consolidation shouldn't I see a sale before I try more?

Thanks in advance for information on this. I am reading the forum but I didn't really come across this specific information and am curious...

    It's hard to say exactly how much traffic is a good amount, since the combination of your landing page and your traffic source is what ultimately make you succeed or not. So even if you bought 10K of targeted impressions for "debt consolidation", but your website wasn't aesthetically pleasing than you shouldn't expect any conversions. It's a balancing act.

    I am not sure where you are getting your targeted traffic from, but LeadImpact.com is a good source for PPV traffic and I would be happy to answer any of your questions.

    It depends on your niche, product and traffic source. But what kind of traffic are you considering to buy? Be careful, because cheap and low quality traffic can be useless to find out if a campaign can be profitable or not.
