look around the net to see what people are interested in

also many of these services like trends and buzz have deeper options and subcatagories to get more data

    google trends
    google zeitgeist
    http://buzz.yahoo.com/buzz
Yahoo! Buzz Index - Today's Top 20 Overall Searches
    AOL Hot Searches

however I think some of the best ways are the following:
-collect data from various cpa sites on what products are selling, to get a feel for trends, ask account manager, that is what they are there for
-Look at magazines and leading websites in various niches/markets to see what they are talking about
-view top forums in various niches to see what people are talking about
-do research (through searches etc) on various topics and products of interest to you to see what the market is for them
-look at google yahoo and bing and see what the advertising that shows up is for various related keywords/products
-look on sites like clickbank and see what best selling products are, this will show you what types of things are selling, and what is not

        1. I go to other affiliate forums and see what everyone is bitching about. If there's complaints they can't run xyz then there's a reason....

        2. I surf certain sites I know that display certain ad networks. I cant get too specific but you know what I mean.

        3. I do some really techie things to follow which ads are being displayed more often across certain ad networks.

Some good resources above. Also, dont forget to use your gut. As good as resources are, there is always a gut factor. If you feel like something will take off, just go for it, catch it before the above resources even catch it.

Thats how you go big time.

As I work, I normally keep news programs and talk shows on in the background. You would be amazed how much information on trends and topical issues you can work into CPA. Every good marketer and trend company has a gut factor they rely on.

This is exactly right whether it be through reviewing magazines(can use their website or look for free at library) and top websites in various niches, to news programs and talk shows on TV, knowing trends is what is going to help you determine what you should promote.

Also don't be afraid to ask the account manager, they know what trends are happening on their sites, and what is converting well. They can give a lot of good suggestions, just take it with a grain of salt.

Staying informed with the news will help out the most. Watching TV, reading entertainment magazines, etc. Twitter now helps tell people what the latest trends are, which is cool.

    Hi,

I would suggest merely studying the market of the trends you are going with. The market can apply to various offers and you can choose from there. It does not necessarily need to be directly related. So long as it is of interest to your market, then there is a great chance of it working.

    Hope that helps,

    Aira

    Hehe...

    Magazines, Newspapers, and Online news.

Keep an eye out for multi-million dollar advertising campaigns in unrelated papers/magazines etc.

If you see them there, then its a good chance the subject is hot.

Right now for example, debt/finance offers are gold. In january, while that was still true, Weightloss and Taxes were money makers.
