I'm looking for an Affiliate Summit East discount code, for ASE NYC August 2010. Anyone got one they can turn me on to?

normally a tad closer to the event, some bloggers end up giving codes out

I cancelled my ASW ticket because everyone was giving free passes out, made me pretty upset. If you want to go to ASE definitely wait as long as possible and see if you can get a free code.

Is it worth it for a noobie to go to this? Or will it be no benefit?

It's a massssssssive conference but by far one of my favorites. Lots of potential business for someone like myself.

It's good for networking with other affiliates, but don't just plain out talk to them and ask them for tips, lol.

I think this is a great tip and common mistake people make. Networking is about getting to know other people and giving. If you approach somebody with the sole intent of getting and receiving, you wont get anywhere. Make the getting and selfish benefit an afterthought.

My take is that when I go to events and seminars I want to get to know people. I want to know how trustworthy they are, what kind of people they are, their personality, etc. I dont even care what they know, how much they make, or what they even do at first. I want to develop a friendship first and then if there is some sort of mutual benefit, then all the better.

Don't be one of those people that approaches people, tells them your name, and then asks them for the golden secret to what they do. Business is about relationships and partnerships. CPA is a business.

I figured. That is why I asked if it would be fitting for a newbie. I wouldn't want to walk in and have people brush off networking with "the little guy" so to speak.
