Advice on increasing conversions for this webpage

I'm getting decent traffic but a terrible conversion rate.

It used to convert well, but then I started messing with it, don't remember what the wording was before but now it's converting like crap.

Would you mind taking a look and giving me some advice on how to increase the conversions of this page?

My visitors ARE coming to my website looking for contractors, but not following through. It's purely because of my wording/presell skills.

Wow, that is one busy page. I would simplify that a lot. I clicked your link and wasn't sure what you wanted me to do next. The next step needs to reach through the screen and punch the reader in the nose. You have to tell them what's next and make it crystal clear.

Example: "Click Here Now To Get A Free Quote From A Contractor", make a link like that really stand out. All the colors on your current page are blending together, making it look like one big wash. Use action colors on your calls to action.

Also look at using google's website optimizer program for split testing.

    Hi friend,

This page converts terribly because it has too much going on.

To simplify it, choose a part of the page that you want your visitors to notice. Emphasize that. Make it huge. Make it red. Make it stand out.

Also, diminish distractions. Having one noticeable ad that screams 'click me' is better than multiple ads that are mere diversions.

Have one thing that is emphasized and your prospects will definitely click if they are interested. Do not complicate things. Keep it simple and your visitors will show their appreciation through conversions.

    Hope that helps,

    Aira

Hi, I had a look at your page.
No. 1: I don't like the header. You should definitely find a graphic that tells people what the page is all about and make the title bigger.
No. 2: The post titles should be bigger so people can spot them.
No. 3: Grayish blue background with gray font doesn't help either.
No. 4: The banner is too big in the middle.
No. 5: More banners and links on the sidebar, less in the posts
No. 6: If you really want to use banners in posts instead of anchor text put them in the end.

Otherwise the concept looks OK, with proper craphics the conversion can be increased.

    P. s. Please add a social share button on the sidebar or after the posts and a pingback, too. I find it very useful in my blogs.

If your using wordpress you should be able to go back and restore any past revisions. Just click on the edit post entry function and scroll to the bottom. It will have every save you have ever made of the page.

This should bring you back to the time when your page was converting.

    hope this helps
