    Hey Alex,

Although I don't have a ton of experience with promoting CPA offers with YouTube, I know a lot of people who have had a lot of success using this technique. What I have done in the past, with decent success, is create my own video (usually just a powerpoint with some background music, usually no more than 1 minute), and hype up the offer. At the end of the video, add a link to your offer.

I've also heard of people making funny or "wow" videos that go viral and get a ton of hits. Once they go viral, the person will usually put a link at the top of the video. This seems to work pretty well with e-mail or zip submits (in my experience iPad e-mail submit offers).

I also heard about a marketer who put a video on YouTube that went viral and he was making $500+ per day, using this technique with an iPad e-mail submit offer. Can't validate whether or not it's true, but it does seem possible, if you are getting MASSIVE amounts of hits on your video. Hope that helps though!

    Best of Luck,

Again, don't have a TON of experience with this, but my understanding is that a "wow" video is just something that people watch where there reaction is, "Wow!". The example that I know of is, someone posted a video of them doing an amazing trick on bike. Once word spread of how amazing this was, it got the usualy 10,000+ hits and comments. The kid then put a CPA offer on the video, and then sat back and watched the conversions add up.

You see how easy that is though? He knew that the people watching his video were going to be mostly late teens and early 20's males, so an iPad, PS3, XBOX, etc. offer here would work perfectly. Never tried it with a "wow" video, but from what I've heard, it works pretty well. Hope that helps though!

Viral videos are very interesting for many reasons. Many of the most viral videos were not developed by marketers, but by average folk. So if you as a marketer are developing a video to go viral, something to think about is making them seem real and "uncut".

Here are a few others things...

SHORT - many viral videos are extremely short and to the point. Remember that gopher stare video? It caught on for two reasons. One, it was short and two, it was easily replicadable. Many viral videos are easy for people to make parody versions of the video.

CERTAIN TOPICS - to get a video to go viral, you really want people to start posting it all over their blogs. Certain things always get a lot of attention in this regard including...funny pictures of cats, babies, puppies, politics, etc

SEO - If you want a video to go viral, you may want to think about doing typical SEO on the video. Focus on the keywords, backlinks, commenting, 'comment circles', etc

And then the tricky part is matching the CPA offer with the video in a creative way. I viral video without a funnel to your CPA offer isnt very good!
