Inundated with email from CPA Networks

Long time since I've posted here... I wanted to throw something out here, and see if I could find a solution.

Like many here, I'm a member of many CPA networks. Networks tend to broadcast their newsletters every so often - some more often than others. I don't really want to receive these newsletters, so I click the 'unsubscribe' link. Trouble is, for many, when you click the unsubscribe link, it will also unsubscribe you to the important info, such as offers expiring, pay fluctuations, etc.

I have tried to filter and label (I use gmail) but damn, this thing is getting out of control. Bottom line is, I want to receive the important info, as well as email from my affiliate managers (obviously). But I wanna cut the rest of the CPA clutter (ie. newsletter, new offers, etc).

If anyone has any light to shed on the subject, please chime in.

Thanks.

As you said, some networks allow you to receive only the important information without receiving the newsletter. However, most of them have just one email list and won't allow you to choose what kind of information you want to receive. Or you receive everything or you receive nothing. I don't think there is something you can do about it.

With those networks that have only one list, you can choose to opt out altogether but remember that you will then have to sign in every so often to learn about what's going on at the network.

I would contact the networks you don't want mails with directly, or setup a network only email address. I've seen that done before.

  • There are several things you can do in this situation.

1.) Contact the AM's and tell them the situation and have them add you to a special bulk list only for Important information.

2.) Setup a Network only Email address as Ryan stated and just take the important emails with the junk.

3.) Link your gmail account with Thunderbird or Outlook desktop email client and then setup strong filters in there to filter out the junk. Most networks will say something like "NETWORK NAME - Newsletter" in the subject and you could filter out the word "NETWORK NAME - Newsletter" and drop that into a trashbin or separate folder.

Gmail has a feature that you can filter emails with certain words in them. Might be useful for ya.

The worst for me is Hydra where the AM will send out 3-4 emails every single day! All other networks only email me like once a week and whenever an offer is expiring.

For me, I would make a special email address for the CPA accounts.
