Should I use adwords in this particular instance?

Lets say I find a keyword in google that has over eight hundred thousand gloabal searches per month, and I have a CPA offer directly related to that niche. Lets also say that the CPA offer is for a certain country only, and that certain country is about the only one who searches this key word on google. And one more thing: lets say that there is no other competition - not one ad on google search results.

My Pleas to the Experts here
1.How much should I invest per day for my adwords ad, and what should my CPC bid be?
2.I have heard tell of google not acepting your site if it is just a landing page, so is it worth me making a "content rich expeirience" website to promote this offer?

I have never set up a adwords campaign before, but i figure now is as good a chance as any, so my experience is slim to none - please try to use words i understand . THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH

If there are no other ads, then the odds are that it's not a profitable keyword.

If does happen to be a diamond in the rough, and you know that people buy and would be interested in the product you are offering, then your CPC should be really really cheap, I would think.

Do other keywords in this niche have ads running? If so, I would figure out the average CPC for those keywords and watch the ads that are there consistently to get an idea of what is working, then imitate them.

As for the landing page, click through some of the ads that you see running day after day and get an idea of what their site is like. Google does not like direct linking, but I wouldn't blinding build a page, either.

    Dave,

First, you need to try to discover why there is no competition for this particular keyword. Here are a few hypothesis:

    1. You are not living in that country (US?) and you're not using a proxy either. So when you make a search the ads are not displayed, because the advertisers are targeting only people in that particular country.

    2. Google, for some reason, doesn't allow people to advertise on that keyword.

    3. The keyword is not profitable.

    4. You're very lucky and just found a keyword that's being overlooked by other marketers.

If you think that the fourth option is the one that best describes your situation, so you should build your campaign. I know that setting up an AdWords campaign requires a lot of work, and some marketers (me) don't use to do it for offers that they haven't tested yet. However, this is an exception, an uncomon situation and you need to act fast.

But make sure that you are not dealing with one of the first 3 hypothesis!

Thank you both for your conributions!

@William: I used a usa proxy and low and behold.....!!! There was only one ad. BUT, when i added the word 'coupon' to the search, there was tons of ads (mostly off topic tho) Anyways, the google keyword tool said that **** coupons didnt have very many searches anyhow. Also, an update, it turns out I was doing my keyword research wrong, the keyword has an 's' at the end and when i researched the properly spelled word, it came up with 5 million searches per month! HELLO!

So anyhow, since theres only one other ad for the main keyword, and there is 5 mil searches per month, i think i will go ahead and get my campaign started...but....

1.How much should I invest per day for my adwords ad, and what should my CPC bid be?
2.Is it safe to go just with a landing page and risk being banned by google? I could have lots of traffic here...and it would suck if it stopped because my site wasnt "content rich "

thank you for your help in this matter.

If people are advertising on the word with 'coupon' and not on the main keyword alone there is a chance that it's not profitable. However, your cpc will be very low, so you may want to give it a try.

To answer your questions, start with a low budget and bid, get some traffic, see if it converts and then scale your campaign. About the landing page, the answer is yes. You will need a complete website with 15+ content pages, about and contact pages, resources section, privacy policy, disclaimer, etc. Also, make sure that you do some SEO and generate a few backlinks. It should be enough to avoid the slap if you're not intending to promote a free trial (in this case, try to use a longer path, maybe using an opt-in form).

Personally speaking, if the keyword is strong, you can buy the typos of the keywords , and than play them with a small investment and test it out.

This is an interesting idea, but since his keyword has no competition I don't think it's necessary. His cpc will be very low even with the main keyword.

there is also a good chance the product does not meet g terms and conditions and may be the reason no one is advertising on it.

check google advertising terms before going in full kilt.
