I have TRaffic Travis, but I almost don't use it anymore.

It's a good tool and can help with keyword research, but I don't think that it can replace Keyword Elite 2.0. I used to use both tools when I worked with article marketing and KW Elite is much better in my opinion, although it's not good (I would even say useless) for keyword research. I think so because it helps a lot when analyzing competition and make things much easier.

If you are serious about article marketing and/or SEO I highly recommend you to buy KW Elite, even if you already have Traffic Travis.

I use Traffic Travis mostly for my backlink checking. It is more useful than other backlink checking tools because it exports the report into a spreadsheet which helps a lot when my team creates SEO reports for our clients.

As for keywords, Google Suggestor Tool, Adwords Keyword Tool and SENuke works better. First, I harvest keywords using Google Suggestor which just takes a few clicks to harvest longtails. Then I plug it in the Adwords Keyword Tool to track average searches per month then SENuke determines the competition for me so I know if it is actually worth competing with.

I have Traffic Travis Pro but I don't like using it for keyword research. I actually like using Market Samurai instead. It's a lot better.

But, I do like using Traffic Travis to research seo competition and backlinks. I like how it gives you a score which makes it pretty easy. I know Market Samurai does seo competition as well, I sometimes I use both. I guess it depends on my mood. : )

If you're looking for a keyword research tool, use Market Samurai, you can download it for free. They never charge for the keyword research feature.

    Guys

NEVER use any keyword tools ... if you must use a thesaurus. Remember, everyone uses these keyword tools so there goes your competitive edge. Look at source codes, check out websites content and most of all ... USE YOUR HEAD!

That's how you make it in this game, being different than anyone else.

Any questions just let me know

Do you consider things like number of searches and level of competition when choosing keywords? If so, how do you do this without a keyword tool?

If not, how is it an advantage to not have information that your competitors have?

You can still actually find 5 cent keywords that do pull traffic. With nothing further than google's keyword tool.

We do it all the time. Yes - you can get fancy and use all those other applications like Spyfu and Traffic Travis. True - some of them have features that make compiling data easier. The thing to remember - all those applications are getting their data from google and other PPC networks. So - it is totally available to anyone for free.

There are a few other important aspects to consider that have zero to do with keyword selection that can make or break your PPC campaign. Especially when it comes to google. I'll leave it at that.
