Best approach to give away a report?

What has worked best for others when giving away a free report when advertising
on Craigslist?

I have the free report offer and a url to click on, on craigslist.

I am currently just sending them to a form asking for the email address. No CPA offer or other offer other than the report is on that page.

Forgot to ask - Should I put the autoresponder on non confirm or confirm at Aweber?

And to the naysayers, this is not against the TOS of Craigslist.

I have never used CL, so I won't give you any advice on how to post your ads and approach to not mislead you.

However, I would like to highly recommend you to keep the "confirm" feature enabled on your autoresponder. It's because a good percentage of people will enter a fake email just to see what happens. Some people think If it works then I don't need to supply my real email. Since Aweber charges you based on your number of subscribers, you don't want to have many useless emails in your lists.

Always use double opt in. a Thank you , please confirm your email to get the free report, use the audio feature.
Send report packed full of affiliate link goodness

You can also go beyond craigslist and give it away on rapidshare and any ebook sharing sites like booklocker, authorsden, e-bookbroadcast and so forth.

  Right now, after opting in, I am sending them to a web page with the report/article on it and a cpa offer at the top and two links to the index page in the article. The index page has a large banner at the top with the offer as well.
