Getting Impression on Admob. How Long After Approval?

by ..Q..
I'm running a test using Admob.

All my ads are approved and have "running" as statuses.

After 48hrs, I still don't have any impression.

I did try increasing the bid to a ridiculous $0.20, still no luck.

Does Admob put ads in a queue system?

Meaning, if there are 20 advertisers in front of you, you just have to wait for them to have their ads stop running before yours is shown?

I did send a support inquiry but probably have to wait till tuesday before a reply comes in, so I thought I might share this issue here.

Now it is better.... ONE impression per day for the last 3 days.

Anybody have any idea if I can actually do something about it, or is it a known issue in Admob where occasionally this happens and we have to send up a support ticket?

the Bidding system, in Admob or MobGold, allows the ads to be shown in priority, most paying ads will definitely shown more often compare to smaller ones. as for your case, probably what you're targeting is very limited in traffic, like not popular countries, telcos, etc.

yea, maybe you should try targeting more general audiences... it is possible that admob doesnt have publishers in the location you're targeting

as for the ad showing system, i think admob, like any other ad network such as mojiva, mobgold, sure are prioritizing advertisers with higher bid

Try adding more phone types that you will allow ads to be seen on. Most will only show to just iphone / ipad.

There is a problem with Admob and targeting an audience based on their age. Admob states that when you target traffic by age it will only send your ad out to its advertising partners that provide them with demographic information. The last time I ran an ad on ADmob with age targeting I had to do the same thing, increase my bid to a crazy amount just to get traffic. I suggest, if the offer your running allows it, to run it with no age targeting.

If it is 1 impression per day i suggest you send them a ticket. If they are not responding, then pull out your funds and change to other ad network company like mobgold, mojiva, etc.

Usually after your ads get ads will immediately receiving impressions, they should be automated. I don't think that Admob, MobGold, Adfonic are that stupid to not let themselves charged their advertisers with impresssions. cheers.

    Hi
I have just joined Admob, and was about to deposit the $50 to fund my account, but there was a field for redeem coupon, so I began searching for coupon codes with no success, good thing I did, because the reviews I am reading about does not do Admob any favours. Could it be the type of offers to the target markets?

With mobile marketing it is all about the target market. I have been doing mobile advertising for about 3 month now and for the first month I used admob exclusively until I found out about other mobile advertising sites. The good thing about admob is that they are the biggest game in town (they are own by Google) so that they have the biggest advertising inventory. They probable have the best campaign options I have seen so far out of any advertiser. The down side is that even though on the site they allow you to target different demographic, when you do your number of impressions goes way down. Also, compared to other advertisers their CPC is all over the place. Admob's CPC for a text ad is about the same as other advertisers, but if you want a banner be prepared to pay 3x more with Admob then anywhere else (some place the costs for a text and banner ad are the same) The other problem I have with Admob is their high minimum daily budget ($50) per campaign. There are other adveristers out there that will let you set a daily budget as low as you want. I am not sure how targeted Admob's traffic really is since I stopped using them before I really started tracking my offers.

Personally, I would first look at some of the other advertisers mentioned here before going to admob.

    Hey, thought I'd chip in.

I always found that any mobile traffic (compared to PC/laptop) is just completely non-existent. You can't drive any decent volume, whether the offer you are promoting is sales based or lead generation based.

I beta tested it for Google a while back and traffic was just trickling in, even on high bids. I'd stick to other traffic channels.

Any questions just let me know

I too did'nt get any impressions for two days. Then tried removing age restriction and gender type. Iam able to see impressions and clicks.

When you are trying to setup first time, set the campaign with no restrictions. Set an end date too. So that you save money in case you forget. Then once you get impressions and clicks then try to fine-tune the campaign. All the best.
