Are email submits really the easiest to convert?

I recall reading a thread about Email submits and whether they are worth it and why so many don't convert so easily.

I have a campaign with Maxbounty that's been running for a while and has had many hits but few conversions. Its an email submit which I too thought should convert more easily. After many hits and hardly any conversions, I decided to do a little experiment and changed the same offer to the higher paying address submit and voila I'm seeing conversions. I think something must be going on here - I don't know what but I will say I'm seeing less conversions on lower paying Email submits than I am on a higher paying address/form submits. I'll leave you to make your own conclusions!

It has nothing to do with how high the payout is. Your offer may get less conversions because its getting scrubbed.

Alot of times it depends on the actual submit. On the same network I have a submit for a Gucci gift card that converted well above anything else, at over 23% and on the same network an iPhone submit that converted 8%. I have started focusing on higher paying offers because they simply make more money.

I had the same experience with an Email Submit program, less conversions than my expectations.

From my experience email and zip submits do best when they are fresh. The issue is that the backend will scrub out duplicates and also known bad email address'. The best thing to do is to ask your AM what submits are new on the network and of course which ones are converting. Usually they will have multiple submits for the same products IE iPhone 4G and iPads ect.
Obviously it also depends on your ads and traffic and how well that traffic backs out for the advertiser.
Best advice is to hit them hard and fast as soon as you see a new submit pop up on the network.

Agreed. Simple submits like one field zip or email submits are hit or miss, mainly due to the scrubbing factor.

In theory they are the "easiest" to convert andif you find a good one, you can do quite well, but like I said, very hit or miss.

You should really split test the freak out of many offers if you have the volume to justify such action!

I did a whole post on understanding email submit. If you copy a page you'll convert around 80-90% typically. But they can't have it convert that high or they'd lose money. It's all adjusted based on what your traffic is worth.

Thats a great point. The focus and "riches" of CPA marketing comes from getting good solid quality leads. Those are the leads that make you the merchant the most money and they will thus pay you the most money, all comes down to traffic.

For example, if you can get good solid leads of people truly interested in a free iphone, then presumably your lead quality will be good, your conversion rate will then be high and hopefully your scrub rate will then be low. This is massive profit potential even for simple submits like email submits.

This is true for a high payout offer as well.

Of course the question of the thread is "are email submits the easiest to convert". I would say that if you have equally targeted traffic going to an email submit and a high payout multi-field offer, the email submit will likely convert higher...thats why the payout is less. That doesnt necessarily mean that the profit will be greater
