Conversion Rate For Free Trial Offer?

What is a good conversion rate for a free trial offer?

I've been promoting an offer that gets free organic traffic for a keyword similar to "**** Free Trial" and it converts really bad. In three days it has gotten 300 clicks, but only one sale.

The network is market health, really bad experience so far, no support what so ever.

Well, it really depends on many factors: traffic source, landing page, sales pitch, the product itself. Some convert at 1:50 or better while others at 1:300 or even worse. The only thing you can do is to split test everything: landing pages, offers, etc.

Markethealth is a pretty good network and they?ve always answered my queries via email. How did you contact them?

All my traffic comes from people who are actually searching for a free trial, so they should be pretty targeted.

Another thing is I was promoting the offer through peerfly and it converted 1:50 , but they cancelled it. With market health the landing page of the offer is different, but in my opinion better. So I guess it has something to do with the landing page.

I have about 25 visitors a day, and almost every one of them click my link. Where not talking big numbers here, but its decent targeted traffic.

I contacted them through e-mail, I recently got the affiliate managers AIM so I will try that later.

The landing page makes a big difference. Sometimes we think that one lander is better than another, but then we test and find out that we were wrong.

I think that you should use tools like OfferVault and Offers202 and look for networks running the offer with other landing pages for you to split-test.

All great questions by DannyAdams...i was under the impression ML was not the best network for free trials, they are a great network dont get me wrong but i have heard the same things regarding their landing pages...in my opinion and this is a credit to ML...they make sure their pages are 100% compliant which many networks over-look, so this could explain why you saw the drastic discrepancy when you tested with PeerFly VS ML...but like you said this may be a reason why PeerFly lost the offer or canceled it and ML still is live with it...i would jump into some other big networks and try their free trial offers to get a larger scope of offers...

      Azoogle
      CX Digital
      Click-Booth
      COPEAC

All of these will have plenty of offers to choose from...

      Best of Luck.

It's a risk free trial offer, pays on S&H..

Instead of comparing the keyword to "**** free trial", which would be wrong because theres a lot of products based on **** itself.

So instead my keyword is more similar to for instance "Fat burning furnace free trial", a product name keyword with a free trial extension.

Now, In my mind, thats pretty targeted traffic. The only thing I am doing is directing them straight to the offer through my landing page, not through a auto responder.

      Maybe I should presell more?

My landing page is seeing almost 100% CTR.

Try some other network, they might be scrubbing.

Dahlgren_m, what was the offer that you were running with us that we paused? E-mail me (chad@peerfly.com) and I will see what the reason was. Perhaps it's on private or something.

It depends mostly on the traffic source, but I have gotten about a 1 in 35 conversion rate from a targetted blog I have.

What I have done is set up my own landing page and my conversion rates have been 1:12. And I don't drive much traffic there. Keep in mind that when I drive traffic to that landing page it is highly targeted traffic. Like some people have said test and test.

      Thanks guys.

I will check out some different networks.

      Another question.

Like i said i have a very high CTR on my landing page. According to analytics people stay at my site about 1 minute, so their actually reading the article before clicking the big blue link above the fold.

Now, i don't mention in my article that you have to pay for S&H, neither do I speak anything about how the trial works. I only speak about the product.

I know i should test this, and I will, but it would be nice to hear your opinion.

Should I be more focused on telling about the actual trial rather than the product?

    Well a little update here:

Market Health has closed my account for credit card fraud. What the hell!!!!

I've never left any credit card information on their network, why would they close my account without consulting with me, or ask me any questions really unprofessional.

Can they close my account if a lead coming from my traffic is a fraud?

Market health is a BIG joke.

That seems like exactly what happened. There was or was suspected fraudlent cards used in the free trials. If you were doing everything 100% by the books, then get in contact with your network, show them where your traffic was coming from and they may reconsider, thouse its a toss up.

Unfortunately with all the garbage that goes on, sometimes good people get sucked into the cracks. As a network, I dont have much experience with them though, so no comments there.

Also, were you cross network split testing the **** offers?

First of all, their is really no application process with the market health network, it resembles more of a clickbank application, just sign up and your good to go.

Maybe that's a bad sign, I don't know, all I did was check offervault for the same offer since it got cancelled with peerfly/cpapark.

All my traffic is organic search.

I am going to send them a mail, just to clear my name, but I am definitely not going to work with markethealth again.

I haven't split tested, but I did see a dramatic conversion drop once I promoted with Market health. Somewhere in the lines of 1:300, as opposed to 1:50.

I'm pretty new to CPA marketing, and I am in a bit of a learning process.

I have yet to found a method I am comfortable with, but i'm working on it.

It is almost like if you don't have any proven record of Cpa success, you get scrubbed at the beginning, but thats just my experience so far.

Free trial offers usually convert at 10% with a good presell page.

The thing with risk free trials especially with ****, landers and prelanders are most important. Best thing to do is to just keep testing and optimizing. Currently have an exclusive **** and colon cleanse and our pubs are killing it with it but its cause they keep changing up content daily, always gotta have something fresh!

I would give them a call. Be civil and even if you dont plan on working with them, just explain your story and show them your traffic and tell them it wasnt in your power that the advertiser got a fraudulent lead.

Besides clearing your name, you may get some of the commissions earned. You will likely need to to show your lander and traffic source which you may or may not be comfortable doing.

Yeah, the trendy free trials are hit or miss. At heights, the conversion can be ridiculously high for a high payout offer like that, but in the lows, can be garbage.

Find the right place and time to advertise and you can hit big though.

I had a very similar thing happen with this network about a week ago, tried to login to my account and it said suspended due to credit card fraud and the authorities had been notified. Obviously I got on the phone right away. I've had the account for over 2 years, only drive organic traffic and rarely do the free offers.

Basically they told me that their merchant processor was coming down on them because of too many chargebacks and they looked at all the accounts and anyone with over a certain % of refunds/chargebacks was cancelled. They did review my account but in the end I just got word they would not reactivate it.

Although I would rather have it active, after reviewing all of the tracking issue posts here and other places (and my conversions were not that good) I guess it's ok and better to just look at other networks. It sure is frustrating though.

It really depends on the ad network, your keyword of choice
