What counts as a lead?

What exactly counts as a lead for a CPA offer? I've been looking at a few and they have an initial opt-in and then there's a ton of unrelated surveys before you can win the free "____". Will I get paid if just the initial opt-in is completed, or does the whole process of follow up surveys have to be completed?

Most established CPA Networks will clarify in the offer details where the "conversion" takes place. Generally, if it says it is an "email submit" type of offer; the "action/conversion" takes place upon the submittal of a legitimate email address.
Some offers will specify 1st page submit (which converts when all fields on page one of the offer are completed), Some may specify second page submits (which clearly means it converts upon submission of the second page)... Regardless of how the page-flow continues beyond that!

I must say that many people; especially those new to CPA Marketing do not talk to their Account Managers enough. Their Job, what they are getting paid for, is to be available to help you succeed. Build a positive relationship with your account managers!!!

It totally depends on the offer. There are offers that pay for an email submit, zip submit, first page submit, long form submit, quote request, free trial request, purchase, profile creation, etc...

You need to check the specifications of each particular offer.

a lot of them differ, you have ones that just need zip codes, to ones that need a cc, check the offer specifications, each offer should have one
