Is Email Marketing still doable?

Hi fellow warriors,

Recently, I have been asked about how effective the email marketing is for CPA offers nowadays. Since I am not in this area, I cannot come up with valuable answers to my clients. Because of this, I have done some information gathering on the net. It seems to me that only the opted in lists are safe to market with email blasting method. Also, I could not find a really clear explanation on SPAM.

Can our fellow warriors give me some detailed info on this?

Thank you all in advance.

I think that's what gives most marketers steady income flow. IMO
    Not sure sorry.

Yes it is still a very potent IM technique.
Yes, it still works, provided you do it correctly. Of course "opt in" lits are the best ans safer way to target the correct audience.
what is that you want to know about email mrktng?

My client right now is trying to build a list of subs to their newly created online PC game which is a member based addictive game. Right now it is on a testing mode. They need to have as many as testers possible to give feedback. The email marketing is one of the ways they would like to blast the info out. However they don't want to be reported as a spam. Since I have not done any email marketing campaigns before due to the SPAM concerns. I am here seeking some suggestions.

      Thank you all.

If they've got a legitimate offer, then yes, it is very effective. It allows them to build some trust with their subscribers. If they really want a good relationship with their customers, they will try to get them on their email list so they can keep in touch. Double and single opt-in is definitely the best way to do things, not buying SPAM lists, and blasting.

SPAM is just when people receive stuff that they never asked for, that's why there is opt-in email. If your clients want to get people onto their list, have them create something free or ( coupons ) whatever to give to them. People usually will love this, and can opt out anytime they see fit. The opt-in CAN SPAM method really is a brilliant system, and the way things should be.

Since your email marketing is to get testers on your list. Signup with Email Marketing Companies (Aweber). You try the first month with just $1, they should be able to walk you through a tour of how their system works and how you can implement it for your goal. Their support should be able to help out too. However, going for a proper email marketing course would actually be the best bet for you and your client.

Here are a couple things you can consider in reducing your spam concerns.

    - Use a service like Aweber to get confirmed opt ins to your list
    - Get the user used to your name of the list or service so they recognize your messages.
    - Give the user an easy way to opt out on each message
    - Provide your company name and mailing address on the bottom of each email
    - Don't send just marketing messages on the list. Mix in helpful articles or things so it doesn't seem like it's always selling.
    - Keep the marketing messages as relevant to the list as possible

    Hope this helps!

Email marketing still is one of the most powerful systems to promote CPA offers if used properly.

The most successful marketers that I know still do email marketing and so do I. Many PPC campaigns can be used to build email lists at the same time that you promote CPA offers, and I recommend you to capture leads every time it's possible. I'd never kill my ROI just to add subscribers for my list, but there are situations where the campaigns are even more profitable with this route, because we can use autoresponder series to promote multiple offers or some high ticket ones.

So don't underestimate Aweber, it still can be your best friend.

I think you're dead on - collect the lists yourself with proper opt-in and you'll be fine

Hello, my wife is a college professor in healthcare. She has a very large email list of prior students. Would it be unethical for me to use this list to promote cpa.If I were to promote cpa would I put my cpa link in the email and just redirect to product page. Thank you

Unethical...tough call. Of course ethics and morals are relative to each and every one of us.

It's a tough issue because I don't know if the students technically opted into the list and there may even be rules at the university, colelge, school against using the students emails for anything but school related things. Now that I think about it, that probably is the case.

In my personal opinion, it's probably not worth it just in case you get accused of spamming, that could be really bad for your wife if shes still a teacher.

I would say start building some nice niche sites and squeezing emails out from them

Yeah, that sounds pretty unethical. It also sounds like you might get into legal trouble doing it, as they probably take privacy very seriously there.

Thank you guys for the advice, how would these prior students know where the emails are coming from. Let's say I send them educational info, like how to possibly obtain grant funding to continue their education. Would this be wrong? Is this considered bluefart? Oh ,Kenster I have used some of your ideas and made my first $100.00 thank you

I think it is unethical and wrong. The students didn't give her (your wife) their emails to receive promotional emails, so I think that you would be spamming, which is illegal and can get your accounts banned with most good CPA networks.

Well, thank you all for the valuable inputs. Since time I posted, I have been using my mobile marketing method to collect opt-in leads. It seems to be working nicely. I believe my client would consider this as their first campaign.

I have to say that a squeezed straight to point landing page is the key to have opt-in list grow faster.

It's great to know that things are going well. When I tried to capture leads with mobile advertising (AdMob) I didn't get good results.

      Keep up the good work!

Depends on the list of readers, and if the offer is what they need.
If the list is cold or the offer out of place doesn't matter what you send email marketing is great but can produce terrible results if not done correctly.

Yes, it's doable and Yes it works (still).

If you noticed all the Gurus make
most of their money via plain old
    email marketing and they're living
    quite wealthy

    Igor

P.S. of course for email marketing
to be effective you need to build your
    own list.
