Need advice on scaling

Greetings Warriors,

I started running one of my first PPC campaigns in the middle of this october. I've been running this campaign with Media Trust using a PPC search engine. Basically, I think I lucked out with it. You see when I first started it - I really didn't have alot of information on how to split test, keyword research, etc. I kind of just dove in and picked one of the first PPC campaigns Media Trust offered me basically. So, working from the campaign out I went out and secured a domain name. I then took this domain name and setup a nice single page landing page. I then went to the PPC search network and setup my campaign.

I am fortunate that I have been making a positive ROI with this campaign. While it's not huge by any means in regards to what I'm making per day with it, I am making money. Here are my actual questions now that you guys are a bit more familiar with my situation.

1. I'm noticing the CTR% for the actual offer after they click on my landing page. Is getting nothing. I think it's because their landing page is pretty craptastic. In turn my AM was telling me he was going to only authorize me another 500 clicks. When they say something like this, does that mean total? Is he going to shut down the campaign? I mean while I am making money, it would appear they are not because the offer is not converting on their end.

2. Should I scale up? If so, how would you guys recommend that I do scale? Using a media buy or something?

It's hard to know what he meant based on that language but it seems the offer may not be converting on the backend and the advertiser is not pleased. He may only give you 500 more click on the offer or conversions and if the quality isn't there then you may not be allowed to promote that specific offer.

Of course I can be reading it wrong, but that was my initial take.

Now if this is the case, then, I wouldn't start scaling because you may have the campaign turned off for you. Perhaps try laser targeting your keywords right now to try and increase the conversion on the advertisers end, at least for the time being. It seems like they may be closely looking at your leads so you don't want to dilute your lead quality any more than it already is.

Your best bet is to probably give your AM a ring and get a better idea what he/she meant so you know how/if to build out the campaign.

But congrats on finding a winning campaign without any research, testing, or optimization. Its rare but its great!

I am going to assume you are promoting cash.com on an CPC payment structure. What he is probably saying is that your traffic is not backing out for them (they are not making money on it) so they are only going to give you 500 more clicks to see if it becomes profitable.

I think MediaTrust will do a per lead on that campaign so ping your AM and see what he/she says. If you do a per lead they will let you keep going on the campaign because then they are only paying you when a lead signs up.

On the flip side your current campaign might not be profitable anymore because if your traffic isn't backing out on the CPC model then it's probably not going to back out on the CPL model either (for you).

I'll talk to my AM and see what his thoughts are. I make my money after individuals are brought to my landing page from the ad I've setup with AdWords. When they actually arrive on the page and then click the ad I've setup, that's where I make my money. The page the clicker is taken is where I think they're falling through at. Because, the page really does not look too professional at all and is kind of amateurish in my opinion.

Guess I'll look into finding another offer to start promoting.
