Bookmarking...Is it necessary?

Does bookmarking even worth doing? Is my question .I have several older websites that are starting to get some traffic and im wondering if i should even bother bookmarking these sites..Will it help?

Absolutely, but bookmarking alone is not going to do it.
It should be used in conjunction with other links (comments, articles, etc), and always in moderation! In other words, don't link and dlive

let me ask you something...Is it as easy as submitting the link to the site or blog to this site here:http: //www.socialmarker.com/ ?

Also i have some sites about 8 months old...Will bookmarking help these sites to rank?

  Try backlinking your bookmarks. For example, you could bookmark your sites at Delicious then bookmark the Delicious bookmarks at Stumbleupon etc. Another thing is Delicious, for example, has an RSS feed of your bookmarks so why not submit that feed to the feed aggregator sites - you can find free feed submission sites here TopRank Best List of RSS Blog Directories to Submit Your Blog and Feed - Online Marketing Blog

  HI Bookmarking is still improtant.You will get some fast links and it will help to index your sites.Furthermore,Many social bookmarking websites are no-follow which will make your backlinking camping more natural.Try to get links from no-follow and do-follow as it looks more natural and helpful.

  1,000 sites? Well in that case manual submission would take an eternity. Have you considered getting SOCIALBOT by Incansoft?
  
  Or I think the new SENuke X has auto-submitting capabilities to social sites. If you're dealing with that many sites, you should definitely consider it.

Social bookmarking can give you some short term boost in the serps but don't expect them to make miracles. Google isn't a huge fan of social bookmarking links as it knows how easy they are to aquire.

If you plan on having your sites climb up and stick there I thing you should go for some better quality links such as articles (Ezine takes the cake on this one), signatures in topic related forums and comments on good blogs (don't go for auto approval blogs as they'll have a lot of comments - lots of OBLs - poorer link quality in Google's eyes).
