Hi.

I suppose this is a bit like asking what a length of a piece of string is with so many variables involved but if I was to place a 160x600 banner above the fold, what sort of click through rate can I expect. Is it too unreasonable to expect 1 in 100 visiting the offer page?

Thanks.

Jim.

    CTR depends on various factors. Is the site where your banner is placed highly relevant to your niche? Is your banner good enough to attract enough clicks and so forth.1% CTR may/may not be possible. Ultimately, you'll be able to find out only if you jump in and test.

    you can only know when you test.
    im not talking a/b split testing. heck, a/b/c/d/e/f/g split test if you can. and you should!

    Depends on where your banner will be displayed. i would spend 20-30 bucks on a cheap campaign, get some traffic, TEST IT. Also who cares how many impressions your getting as long as your clicks are converting into leads. let me know if you need any more help. also If you need some help just getting the leads on a list I know a way to get them through pay per click dirt cheap in every competitive niche. I am currently getting around 20 leads per 10 dollars on my ppc campaign in a WEIGHT LOSS niche. trying to build a list in that niche and thats not too bad, considering it was done in like 5 hours. anyways good luck to you boss

    There are many factors involved to determine a CTR besides the ones that you mentioned...

    * Is the banner close to the content?

    * Is the banner on the right or on the left?

    * Is the banner animated?

    * There are other banners close to yours?

    * How does your banner relates to what the visitors of the site are looking for?

    * How does your banner contrasts with the layout of the site?

    You can expect a CTR of 5.392%. JK - like the other people mentioned, you can't possibly know until you test. That said, on your average website, a 1% (1 out of 100) CTR would be considered quite good.

    CTR is the number of impressions your Ad gets divided by the number of clicks. In essence you should create an a compelling Ad that strive to achive a higher CTR. This can be achieved by doing a thorough keyword research, create compelling Ads and most importantly create an effective landing page.
