CPA offers in chat rooms?

Has anyone here had any success promoting CPA offers in chat rooms?

I know a lot of chat rooms don't allow links to be posted but there are one's which do.

TBH It's unlikely that your network will accept chat room traffic, but it's worth asking your AM about.

If you could find dedicated niche chatrooms then possibly, but I doubt your conversions will be high at all.

No reason you can't enquire and test it out though.

Chances are that it will be considered spam, so stay way from chat rooms.

yeah, i think networks usually associate chat traffic with bot/spam traffic

Actually my argument is that no network would ever know you're redirecting chat traffic - the reason for this is because most chat clients are not 'websites' - so for all intents and purposes it will strike as direct linking.

      Interesting.

How about if you created a landing page with CPA banners on, would that still be classed as spam even though your not directly linking to the offer?

That's running under the assumption that the user is actually spamming to cause a complaint. One can market things to a chat room without it having to be spam. They just have to be in the right place, at the right time, when a conversation piece pertaining to something they are affiliate to pops up.

Lets face it, I'm sure many of us here have used the very same tactic on forums to gain sales, without ever receiving a complaint.

EDIT: While I mentioned sales which is more aff marketing, it still pertains to CPA.

Either which way you slice the above, it's 'spamvertising' which is a form of SPAM.
    Wikipedia Definition:
    Code:
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Spamvertising is the practice of sending E-mail spam, advertising a website. The word is a portmanteau of the words "spam" and "advertising".
It also refers to vandalizing wikis, blogs and online forums with hyperlinks in order to get a higher search engine ranking for the vandal's website. Spamvertisers insert links to their websites (typically, sites purporting to sell some commercial product) and add keywords of common or related searches. The apparent goal is that a search engine will find the vandalized page full of links and improve the popularity rating of the pages to which they link. This is typically done by automated editing programs which look for editable text fields in web forms and automatically fill them in with web links. The links typically lead to pills, porn and poker sites.
Most legitimate website providers do not tolerate this practice, and will delete any site that has been spamvertised.
This practice has led to many editable online resources employing anti-spam countermeasures, including the use of captchas to prevent automated editing.
Pretty sure discussion of sp@mming is considered bh talk... just my honest opinion.

I used to sell one of my dating books about 9 years ago by telling people about it in dating chatrooms I actually made a few bucks per day but it was VERY time consuming. You can use a macro script to keep copy and pasting it. It DOES work but its very intensive.

Any questions just let me know

    there are two thing here

1.chat room traffic is not actually supported by the networks.

2.you will not be able to get your targeted group for the conversion. Because most of the people in chat room are fake.
