Forum Marketing - which approach is better for cpa conversions?

Hi everyone,

I like to try out forum marketing. But like to hear the thoughts from the experiences who have been doing it.

a) Should I have a landing page instead of direct link to a cpa offer in my forum signature?

b) When people say landing page, I assume is either a blog or some website? Or do you mean a simple page redirect to the cpa offer? e.g. when someone visit www.abc.com/offer, it will auto redirect to the cpa offer website?

c) If I want to use my website as a landing page, I assume is better to have a more generic name or a pen name site, so i can have offers from different niches in there to redirect right?

e.g. Welcome to aloha.com - generic name

VS

pccomputerss.com: - more relevant to computer cpa offers, but can't promote skin care offers

d) Does it really matter whether i am going for a dofollow forum to contribute than a nofollow forum? I know this is more backlinking which is more practical to linking to my site .. e.g. List of 144 Do-Follow Forums by Niche | JR's Internet Marketing Strategies (found in google)

e) Lastly, do people actually click on links at your forum signature? I am curious. Assume you are in a video game community and you are so new say 0 posts or 5 posts (even you posts 10 post per day for 2 weeks, looks odd too) .. will people actually care or click on your signature? Coz normally I will only click on someone's signature with someone contributes very actively in the forum almost everyday and been there for awhile. Not sure how you all do it? Any advices?

To answer your question, yes, they do click on links in the signature. I'm not sure how effective forum marketing is though. I'm only being honest. To be fair I didn't try it much when I started out, but I think I tried it enough to realize that there are other things that can make you more money in less time, which should be your goal.

If you want some other free methods I'll give you some I did when I started out Just PM me

4 people who posted in this thread are doing forum marketing(including me), so yes its effective and people do click the signature links. It can work for cpa conversions as well, you just need to select the right forums.

Forum marketing definitely works. At times I have looked at what someone is promoting because the title in their signature caught my eye and could possibly fill a need I had. You may get a good click through rate and a great product that fills a need, but the set up of your website will also make a difference. You can get or lose a customer in a matter of a minute or less, so be sure that the homepage of your multi - niche site is set up to catch the attention of your customers with good copy/information and good visuals related to your niches.

      Good Luck !

forum posting is ok if your forums are focussed and yo become a 'presence' there
if you are flitting in and out people will not follow- you might get random clicks but not many

blog posting is ok if you are quick
so when somebody sends you an email re reading their blog get there straight away and post a comment
then you are near the top with a link to your site
put you topic rather than your name there too
so rather than sy put 'steve' in the name bit - put steve's making money today

also TJComer02 would be interested for others to see some of the methods you used too

If you can find targeted enough forums for the offers you want to advertise - it can actually be a fairly solid method of making money.

You really need to immerse yourself in the community though - and offer a lot of help and assistance. Offers that pay you long term are the best for forum marketing - as you are going to get less leads but they should be fairly quality.

For example - promoting a recurring membership site that pays you monthly as long as the user stays on board is one way to go about it.

Forum Marketing is not at all dead.

People still click on the signatures.
