You should be using something like prosper202 to track your clicks. This will give you a different link, maybe not as long, but maybe just as long. You can also mask your referrer info using prosper.

No. You want to be able to control your links. Unless you're the admin of shortZY, then you don't control those links.

Example: shortZY could instate a new policy which says no affiliate links are allowed. Then they go through and scrub all of your aff links. Now, you're promoting links on FB and elsewhere which don't even redirect to your offers, or maybe those URLs get recycled and go somewhere else completely. You would have no control over it.

You could install your own shortener on your own domain if you really wanted. It shouldn't be very hard.

The best way to determine that you can use two methods.

    1. Talk to your AM. They are a wealth of information.
    2. Go to facebook itself. Research the ads there. If it is continually being promoted it is likely a profitable niche.

When you setup facebook campaign you can filter users by age, sex, location, demographics, likes and interests and education. So, make sure you get a product that appeals for a narrow highly targeted group of audience. So, my suggestion is to first create targeted group then look for offers for each of the groups.

Dating is doing well on Facebook although it can be quite expensive. I would suggest getting landers converted to a different language and promoting in countries where you can get cheap clicks

People on Facebook are on Facebook not to buy things. Keep that in mind. They're on there to see whats going on in other people's lives. You need to capitalize on that. Entertainment, sports, fashion, movies, relationships - this is why people are on Facebook. If you've seen 'The Social Network', there's a scene where Mark Zuckerberg says that the whole point of the relationship status on Facebook was to see who was banging who.

With that in mind, dating offers are a big pain the A to get approved. I read a case study where the guy submitted 6000 dating ads, and 2000 were disapproved. That's insane... considering there seemed to be NO correlation between why some got approved and why some got disapproved. They just DON'T like dating on Facebook.

    Cliffs:
-Facebook's Advertising Dept hates approving Dating ads
-Use pop-culture in your advertisements. Don't include the word 'buy' or 'sale' in any of your ads.
    -Polls/questions work wonders

In the Dating niche it's sometimes tough to get your ads approved.
FB watchs your image ad very closely and then they go to review your landing page images and texts.
Few weeks ago somebody from FB disapproved all 6 ads I posted in my page without saying a single word about the "why".
So I sent a complaint because my ads and LP fulfilled FB TOS for dating, and guess what: in just 24 hours all my ads went approved!
Have in mind that FB ads team are just PERSONS (no bots), and somebody may be in bad mood one day and change the next day, or maybe is a kind of "ayatollah" like the guy or gal that disapproved my ads.
So resubmit your ad a couple of days later or you must complaint if you think that your ads are good, and you'll get answers.

I still think FB is coming out with a dating site of their own which is why they're tyrants with dating ads right now.
