if you can pull 30% roi as a newbie, thats good, so if you spend 100, you might make 30, if you spend 1000, you might make 300...rarely if ever does a campaign go profitable out the door though.

It depends on the market and your skill level. If you can break even in a highly competive market, you have done well. Then all you need is to trim and otpimize, and you got a winning campaign.

Any questions just let me know

Not a dime, however you asked "before being really profitable", PPC's basically here including adwords in which that one alone did cost me a bundle at the time... I contributed a tiny bit to the success of Google...$500/month limit for about a year If I recall.

    Take care...

100$ would be the first choice, I would recommend.I have started with 100$ in last augest and it took 2 months to finish that ad compaign.
It was not so bad i could gain 5 sale from that. Now my sale is slowly catching up with new PPC campaign.

I just started a campaign today for CPV traffic $200.

I' found out I was bidding a super popular domain name and lost $25 right away, should be better tomorrow.

Also should note: I started with 1000 keywords + Urls. Now I'm down to 651 keywords and urls, I have been testing and tracking everthing using tracking202! won't lose money on those bad ones anymore.

I spent only $2 for giving ad on a 'Get Paid to click' site!
It was profitable, thereafter I shifted to bux.to but it was just a crap and I lost $60.
Thereafter I started using Google Adwords.

      Hi,

Before the Ad expenditures, I spent $600 buying ebooks, videos and WSOs to learn the way of CPA, advertising channels and traffic.

Past weeks, spent $500 on Ads and royalty free resources. Learning along the way. I think just doing PPC is insufficient. Need the support of Mail-List and Free Methods.

This is what the Senior Warriors said:

      > Kenster adviced not to spend more than $100 and supplement that with massive Free Methods. You will see results slowly but surely. Invest in long term.

      > While BadBoy Nick said, if you want more - you got to spend more. Which means, we got to take risks.

      > KC-Coop said, minimum $2,000 before you see the results. Very practical and makes sense. No magic.

      > Williamrs said, don't spend any if you are short of funds. When you start to get income from free methods, then spend some on Ads to accelerate results.

I guess, what they are all saying is Act Wisely According To Your Situation. And at every situation, we got to start IMPLEMENTING ASAP because CPA is all about taking actions.

Still learning and fumbling a lot. And yeah.... I've stopped buying WSOs for most things except from 3 people :

          1. Mike Christon - for personal & intellectual development
          2. Bill Platt - for critical and frank views on current IM environment
          3. Mike Morgan - for saving time and reducing costs of trial & errors in Ad channels.

I hate troubling people (including mentors). So I bought and read enough guides on the following topics and whatever related to them :
          - Facebook
          - Youtube & others
          - Blogs
          - Twitter
          - Social Bookmarking
          - Article Marketing
          - List Building Techniques
          - Search Engine Optimization
          - Traffic Building & Analytics
          - Back-linking
          - Page Rank
          - Outsourcing
          - Offline Marketing
          - CPS Networks
          - CPA Networks

I think .... I've crunched enough topics to enlighten myself about potential avenues and optimize them during implementation.

At least now, I can see things clearer. What I seek to achieve is be able to decide better, quicker and make some. I update myself from WF postings. Lots of golden nuggets.

I like the advice of kenster and Nick. Some people don't have the time to wait for seo like william said in flash cpa that's almost as a bad as spending a but ton a on ads and lose only to put in hours of free work for weeks only to still lose ....damn and Two racks just to see results is kinda high considering that most of us patrolling the forums only wish we had two G's for testing double damn

I didn't spend too much the first time I strated promoting CPA offers, because I started with 2 methods, one free and another very cheap. However, the first time I started creating PPC campaigns I had to spend a lot of money to get profitable.

I don't think that it needs to be expensive for everybody, it depends on your knowledge, experience, background, etc... However, it's highly recommended that you have a good budget before getting started with any type of paid traffic source, specially if you don't have experience and will work alone.

I don't remember how much I spent. I probably spent quite a bit either losing some money, breaking even or making a little bit before I finally got a very profitable campaign.

My first ppc campaign I had a voucher for $100 in adwords but I wound up spending close to $400 out of my pocket before I was able to get down to 4 or 5 profitable keywords with decent conversions. I then optimized on them and started turning out a little over 20 percent profit. It took a while because first I was doing a redirect then google paused my campaign so I had to build a landing page IMO this just added another step the lead had to go through before getting to the offer but its what the big G wanted...

the lowest CTR will be 1% if converting at all, so if you can drive 100 UV then if it converts then at least you will get 1 sales, but try to push it around 300 UV. If there's no conversion at all then leave it. So the ad amount is depends on the CPC which by the way is different from one niche to another. But $100-$200 will be enough to get started.
