Gee wiz. All I hear nowadays is how clickbank is dead. Is it really? Are people making more with cpa and Amazon than clickbank? Or is it just rumors and conjecture?

    i think it depends.
Click bank is popular from the beginning. but the CPA is popular now. amazon don't give a good commission so i don't think they are better than Click Bank.
people are still earning enough money from Click bank

While Amazon might not have huge commissions per sale, they have paid out more commissions than clickbank. CPA is very profitable because the cost per action is easier to convert than selling an ebook.

My Associate assures me that clickbank is DEAD!!! I wouldn't know, I haven't tried to sell a clickbank item in months.

Hello I'm new here but I just thought I would say something about clickbank. I purchased that mass money deal that is on the first page in clickbank. I did learn some things from it but it was nothing like promised. So far I haven't made any money from it. But I did get on the first page of google, but what amazes me is that I get no visitors. Google says that the keyword I choose gets typed in 550k times per month. Does anyone know what could be the problem?

Clickbank has been dying for the last few years, or at least since the day I joined this forum.

Word to the wise, Clickbank will be around for a while.

You have to look at it like this, all Clickbank is, is a marketplace where you can go and find products to promote, good and bad, and for the vendor it's an affiliate management system. That's all it really is, and Clickbank doesn't except everyone but really they certainly will accept a lot of poor products as they are getting paid to do so. All Clickbank is, really, is that. They do not have a lot of control over the quality of products using it's affiliate management system other than, of course, just not accepting some applications.

Have a few products on Clickbank But To be quite honest most of my income comes from things NOT Assosicated with Clickbank at All,Mostly CPA stuff and other venues like pay(dot)com of business however I think CB are shooting themselves in the foot by there policys like keeping hold of some affilates money until they generate business.

Which they do sometimes?. Also alot of products are re-hash products that promise little and do not work.ImhO

Ya that's the annoying thing about Clickbank for newbies who get that one first sale and they are all excited and then suddenly they can't get any more sales and once it gets to 90 days (?) or something if you haven't had at least one order with at least one of the different methods of payment they use they'll start slowly taking away your commissions. I think it's a pretty poor way to do business but I suppose they're on solid ground since you agree to their terms and condtions? I don't know but worth researching, more.

Clickbank will never die. They've been around too long. I'm not even sure why someone would even suggest that. It's like saying eBay is dead and we all know that is not true. CPA, on the other hand, is constantly going up, up, up.

I don't think that Clickbank is dead. We can't promote CB products the same way we promote most of the CPA offers, but it doesn't mean that it's dead. CB is still very good for email marketing campaigns if you can find decent products in your niche.

I think that most people think that Clickbank isn't good because they work only with CPS (cost per sale) products, and some marketers think that convincing somebody to purchase something is hard. However, we can't forget that the CPA offers also require a purchase. Perhaps we can get paid after a short-form submit, but the advertiser is certainly making money by convincing people to purchase something, so it's a mistake to think that CPA doesn't involve selling stuff. And if the advertiser can convince people to buy stuff online so do us, it's all about using the right process.

I think there are still great opportunities at Clickbank to make money. CPA may be the new kid on the block, but I am still making some money with Clickbank. I think Clickbank got very big and like every 900 pounds gorilla they have the power to dictate the pace until the run out of steam or over run over by a another 1000 pounds gorilla.

    To me it is...

Clickbank products have always been hard to sell. You have to have killer ad copy to sell the crap on that site. That's why most people create products to sell on clickbank rather then be an affiliate. All in all you can still make money with clickbank but CPA is way more easier. And all it takes is some creativity and proven methods to push CPA offers.

    Well I don't think so.
Clickbank is still dominating the affiliate marketing and giving the marketer a handsome commission than others. CPA and Amazon are also popular in the IM but I don't think that they can compete with clickbank.
Still now clickbank is the best.

If you're not using Clickbank, or not approaching it right, then it may as well be dead to you.

But it's clearly not dead to the people on this very forum making 5 figures per month primarily (if not solely) through them.

Unless you consider 5 figures per month to be chump change.

Yes there are people making 5 figures per month but they are a tiny minority. Quite frankly, I do not believe the claims made by most people. It perhaps gives them an Ego boost or potentially raises their credibility.

I agree, there are lots and lots of people doing 5 figures with clickbank but then you have to realize how many affiliates there are.

One thing to keep in mind is that a lot of people misrepresent their earnings by showing revenue numbers, not net numbers. Any idiot can throw up $100,000 a month in PPC ads and earn $60,000 in commissions for the month. Guess what, this person just spent 100k to make 60k, so they lost 40k but then they tell people they made 60k that month...which is true on the rev side but not the profit side.

And then I'm sure there are people that lie, just like any business.

At the end of the day, there are tons of people making great money with clickbank, CPA, everything else and even more people that aren't making great money. Its the nature of the business!

Clickbank is certainly not dead and is a specific type of market. If you have a genuinely good product that provides real value then many people will buy it plus they have an amazing refund policy that really does work in practise which had great confidence to the system and all vendors are pushed to provide value. I have bought some awful products on clickbank but always got my money back so I really like Clickbank from a customers point of view. I have also bought a couple of products that were absolutely excellent and there is no way I would request a refund because they were exactly as described and the real deal. CPA is a different area with different factors to consider when you look at the detail and of course it is extremely lucrative. However, all campaigns need to be tested and tracked and only ramped up if the desired conversion rate is there. I always aim for a minimum of 1% sign-ups but that is just me. Both are alive and well.

Yep it's dead. Just like CPA is dead and so is every other monetization model!

Just playing. They all morph or evolve if you will, but they wont die anytime soon. Are people making more with clickbank, CPA, or Amazon...I mean there is a spectrum for each one with heavy hitters and small dogs, but they are all very profitable spaces if you know what you are doing.

I personally love CPA so am a bit biased in thinking that is the best direction to take, but there are pockets of gold everywhere for clickbank marketing and amazon so who am I.

    But nope, aint dead!

      Hi,

I saw a web-report yesterday evening. Forgot where I read it.

They say CJ and Linkshare are dropping fast. CB is dropping but very, very slowly and still positioned high above in the graph. CPA networks have seen a drastic leap.

To prop-up biz, LinkShare decided to expand into CPA. While Google Aff Network are offering Adsense like incentives on top of CPS. While RAPbank is climbing fast. PayDotCom, no news. Amazon is growing at super speed.

Most other reports I've seen said CB is there to stay. More and more people jumped into the IM bad-wagon after the sudden influx of Resell Rights and PLR Products. So they joined CB for its user-friendly platform and payment gateway.

Clickbank is great from the selling end of it (creators).

But if you are going to push something as an affiliate, why push a paid product when you can make just as much with free stuff?

    it makes no sense.

But for product creators, there's nothing like Clickbank.

I agree. If by free stuff you mean CPA, then the place clickbank has an advantage is that there are tons of super tiny niches of clickbank products, whereas CPA focuses primarily on very broad and very few overall verticals (unless you get pretty crazy).

I guess CPA is like half-Clickbank.

The ideal long-term way of doing Clickbank is to get people on to your list
and try to sell them different products later.

In CPA, you're basically collecting leads for somebody else's list
and they deal with the final conversion and back end selling.

Clickbank will never be dead. Beleive me the products which used to have gravity of 400 are now sitting like on 900 in just few months. Obviously CPA is more attractive as it requires less effort to make a sale. You don't always need a credit card in CPA.

And that's Clickbank's fault how, exactly?

How will those who might otherwise be clicking through even know they're being taken to a sales-page for a product which is sold through Clickbank (providing you've masked your hoplink, of course)?

Answer: they don't know (unless you tell them), and so it's highly unlikely they're refraining from clicking on your hoplinks intentionally, for that reason, isn't it?

The problem for you, it seems, is traffic-generation and CTR on your own site (or in your emails) - and that has absolutely zilch to do with Clickbank, and more to do with your own targetted traffic-generating and promotional tactics.

At the end of the day, clickbank products and CPA offer and 98% of online methods are all about monetizing the traffic you generate.

If you get good at generating traffic, then you will make money with clickbank, CPA, anything. So if you aren't making money from clickbank or CPA, its not that they are dead, its that you aren't effectively generating traffic...or at the very least, you aren't generating targeted traffic.
