Is it best to have optin on cpa landing page?

I have been looking on google and most of the top results (seo and ppc) do not have an optin box on their landing page. I know it is good to build a list but should you build one for cpa offers? I'm hearing very mixed opinions on this. Some say conversions will go down but better in long run, while others say it distracts from what you want your visitor to do. I guess the only true way to know if its better or not is to test over time. Has anyone actually done this to see what is best for your $$$ bottom line?

Landing pages will convert a sale only if you targeted the visitor with right content and information. That is to say "A call to action" method. Your visitor should be enticed by the title or the header you put it in the landing page.

Some campaigns will make more (lifetime present value) if you monetize in the future via opt in and others make more with the quick hard sell upfront and that's it.

There really isn't a best or even better way to do it...it's different in every scenario.

So, it is completely campaign dependent!
