I'm not sure if anyone caught the super bowl ad's for LS and the new big G but i stumbled across this article going into detail about how Living Social surpassed Groupon last month in terms of visitors.

The article goes into detail about how LS massive presence in the CPA world and slightly "questionable" techniques are being used to "steal" Groupon customers and funnel them to LS through PPV traffic.

      Honestly, i think the article and the opinions expressed in the article by the author are designed to be controversial and create a debate. I think there's nothing wrong with whats going on in terms of LS taking visitors away from Groupon.

      I mean if you have a Nike outlet right by your house and an Adidas outlet opened right next door a month later, we wouldn't be saying anything about questionable techniques right?

    Glad someone brought this up...

    The only reason Living Social surpassed the numer of visitors last month was because of the Amazon deal, and the only reason they got that deal was due to Amazon investing in Living Social.

    Overall, Living Social is Groupon's biggest competitor worldwide, however overall in terms of actual size and assets, Groupon still is an incredible amount in front. In terms of media attention, subscriber lists, traffic, market share. Groupon just keeps expanding, soon to China, across the whole of Europe, Canada, US, Australia...

    I work in Groupon UK and no one here fears Living Social...however it is comforting to know someone is keeping us on our toes

    Thanks for that information man, I have no doubt Groupon is the leader of this space and based on their plans for expansion, I'm sure that will continue. The article caught my eye though...Looks like it's a race for number 2.
