Adwords help please...

what is the correct way to target an affiliate clickbank offer using google adwords?

I have tried several times to get an ad to stick and they keep disapproving my ads. I am doing proper keyword usage so I am guessing it has something to do with the method of targeting.

Please help. Thank you.

    Hey Chris,

Adwords doesn't like that long sales letter type landing pages. Doesn't matter what you do, they won't approve it. The only way around it is to cloak, but that's risking your account.

If your ads are being disapproved, then my guess is you are using the wrong display URL, ( as the first of many possible things that may be wrong )

By this you have your affiliate link in the destination URL which is OK, but what your putting into the display URL does not match, hence the ad being disapproved, this has nothing to do with click bank as such.

Further to that as the ppc coach mentions correctly is that in most cases adwords and click bank are like oil and water and do not mix, it can be done but it takes a fine balancing act, that for the better part is not worth it.

If you really want to use adwords look for more suitable affiliate options or create your own product and promote that, less the hype of course / read googles terms before promotion.

Your destination Url must match (resolve) the to the display url.

It is very difficult to get a good quality score directly linking to a product.

You are better off creating a review site and linking your ad to your review. You not only have control of it to optimize your quality score but you can also start building a list of people you can market other offers to.

Make sure your landing page does not force people to sign up to get the information they are looking for. This will get you in trouble with Google. Give them some information on the page and a sign up for more detailed information and you will be fine.

Are you direct linking? If so, it will be really tough.

I recommend you to use an opt-in landing page to capture leads and promote the offer with an autoresponder series. You can promote any offer/product by doing this and build an email list at the same time. Also, if you follow all the rules (create a real site, put useful content on the landing page, etc) you won't have problems with Google.

Thanks so much guys... really. I was not making newb mistakes... I was just not getting the ads approved. I guess it was human review probably and far out claims that did it.

I do not understand the reasoning behind Googles adversity to affiliates. Why do they make it so hard to advertise a product when that is the fundemental reason for their existance....

Google is not averse to affiliates. You just have to watch how you go about things.

I just wrote a post about this earlier tonight. I think I'm allowed to link to it:

I very rarely have problems getting my sites / landing pages approved. You really have to go out of your way to make the site useful. I usually include custom searches, interactive plugins, and lots of alternative content. Works like a charm with QS of 6+ for almost all keywords.

The only way is to register a domain name, set a blog, create good content and pre-sell the product you're trying to promote.
