PPD - Pay pr download - How does that work?

I just found some site, that claims to pay you a specific amount for every single download they get on a file you uploaded..

It seems interesting to try out, but I do not see what they gain by this. I haven't uploaded anything and tested it, but i can imagine they are gonna monetize the people I send to download from their site somehow.

Anyone know how it works?

without knowing more info about that site, can't tell anything, I don't think that they will pay for each download, most pay per download programs pay for 1000 downloads. You better ask from them how it works.

I was just thinking in general. Like how do they make their money? How likely are the scamming in this area? and so on.

I came here to reply as I felt bad there was no answer about this question on warrior forum. I was curious to see some "How stuff works" about PPD and realized it lands on an unanswered question.

One of the way PPD works is really, really simple:

      1. As a webmaster, you subscribe to something like a CPA provider.

      2. With a CPA provider, you'll be able to put on your websites some links to CPA offers: sweepstakes, forms, quiz, prices won by sending SMS, etc. Things you hate to fill.

      3. You will redirect to these offers when users click something that is hot on your website, like a movie or a game to download, or porn. This is called a "Content Locker".

      4. When someone fills one of these CPA offers, you have configured your CPA account to point to an address on your website like www.yourwebsite.com/cpa.php, so the CPA will call on your server something like this: http://www.yourwebsite.com/cpa.php?a...y_filled=true&[VERY IMPORTANT! =>]a_customvariable_that_has_been_passed_since_the_st art_and_that_contains_info_about_the_link_the_user _really_wanted_to_click_and_the_user_info_itself [this is passed in the link to the offer, and the name is configured in your account too]

      4. You need to create a script in your server to process this "callback" from the CPA server. Since CPA already deal about the money you make, you want to deal about other stuff like: what was the ID of the item the user really wanted to click instead of surfing to this offer. You need to tell to your database stuff like: User A downloaded file X from user B (and you need to code some SQL procedure in your database to do the rest, like some stats).

      5. Ideally, you can access the amount you actually made with filled CPA offers. Note that it really sucks to fill a CPA offer, but if you really blocked all your downloads with CPA offers, then every time a file is downloaded, that means a CPA has really been filled. Anyway, let's try to access the amount you really made with CPA offers. Let's say you made 14.50$ this month. Ok, you prefer higher amounts. Suppose you made 1450$. You claimed you would pay a fixed amount per download, but that's totally false. Imagine that 15% of your affiliates (user that are paid per download) are bad and hacked your system to get more downloads. You -really - don't - want - to actually pay-per-download. You should code some hacker detector, anyway. By making sure the amount of downloaded file fits the actual generated amount for this user. That's one of the fun part.

      6. Anyway. You work on a generated-cash-per-user base. Forget the 1450$. Think in a per-user base. User B generated 45$. You should return a percent of this amount, along with some explanations, like: 25441 files downloaded, with a message that tells that the amount may vary depending on the number of fake download. And don't give any stat about the detected hacking, otherwise the user will know when he successfully hacked your system. The number of downloads is fair enough. And you could even round up the number and work with ranges (500-1000, 1000-2000, 2000-3000, etc) to help avoiding hacks.

      7. So, right now. Several things happened:
      - The number of files downloaded in user B account increased by 1.
      - You made some cash because User A downloaded from user B.
      - So you can give some cash to User B.
      - User A watches his porn.
      - User B receives some cash.
      - You can afford some bitches or gigolos because everyone is giving you cash. I'm kidding. You now can buy some food for your kids.

Of course this is really, really simple for a webmaster to code that. But you'll see several people on warrior forums talking about PPD scripts and getting really excited. This is generally because they aren't coders, naive, and will ask someone else to implement it.

This model is for the simplest model of a PPD system.

Another thing: the challenge is about finding a good niche, and find how you can legally do all this generally illegal sharing stuff, not about coding it. So, sorry for those who think the challenge is to get a PPD script.

Generally, your website can't contain illegal stuff, put only point to illegal stuff. You should also prefer offshore hosting service to put illegal stuff on, but their service and their support will suck, and their server may be DDOS all day long even if their many goal is to be protected for it (not talking about any company :p).

They complete 1-4 offers, then download the file and you earn money.

Best sites CPA sites with PPD features: Adworkmedia, adgatemedia, adscendmedia, Adnooka

Best PPD sites : FileIce, Sharecash

This is called incentive CPA where the user has an incentive to complete the offer and is not interested in the offer's actuall price.

          IFor more info join HackForums.com, CPAelites.com, CPAfix.com

          Have fun!

There are two types of pay per download...

    1. Sharecash etc... you share files, videos whatever... they pay peanuts like $3 per 1000 or something like that. They make money on ads, so they aren't monetized very highly.

    2. Toolbar downloads etc you get them to download the toolbar, they have high payouts like $1-3 per install. You can get these offers at most affiliate networks. Adscend Media has a decent selection and good tracking from my experience for download offers.
