Is anyone hear promoting IQ quizess successfully, if so I would like to hear some tips about it if possible
It's just a tough offer to promote , cause I don't think anyone is really looking to take an IQ quiz
guess targeting board people can work but I still haven't been able to crack it
Any tips would be appreciated

    Hey

IQ Quizzes are "ok", but they dont produce good leads to the merchant UNLESS its a re-bill. You wont be able to make this work by usig proper PPC such as Adwords or YSM/BING, which leaves you only with second tier (read: crappier) traffic such as PPV, Facebook or other PPC platforms. Does it work? Yes, but don't bet the farm straight away.

It is getting saturated very quickly but there is still some money to be made. Just try to create an angle via PPV and challenge the user to take such quiz, you need to have really great eye catching graphics on your LP.

I'm not going to fully give away any campaigns but the trick is that you need to match the demographic and presell them to take the quiz

I never promote IQ quiz offers, but Mobile IQ quiz offers are super hot in some networks right now. So what do you think? Still lots of money to make, only if you could figure out how it works best for you.

Yep...the trick is FINDING YOUR WAY to do it. Simply because if you do what everyone else does you may only make a penny. If you come up with your own idea you may make a lot more!

Here's an idea for you...you can search for celebrity IQ scores in the Big G....here is one site i found quickly, Celebrities with high IQs

Take some celebrities, use sites like Alexa Rankings that can pin point the high volume sites related to Madonna or any other celebrity you want to focus on....begin to contact those sites (i would focus on any fan related pages, search for Madonna fan club and I'm sure you will have a load pages to sift through) about placing media on there and use creative ad-copy if and hopefully when you begin to buy media.

"Are you smarter than Madonna? She scored a 140. Whats your score?"

Something to that extent...I've seen similar ad's on sports related websites referencing professional athletes and their scores and i continue to see these all over so i would assume they're working and working well.

    Best of luck to you.

I don't really understand how mobile IQ quizzes work. I am on a network that I see has mobile IQ offers. Does the affiliate link just resize to fit mobile devices for the lp? What networks serve teh traffic even? I was poking around adon to see if they let you select mobile browsers. I see pof has a way to only serve mobile browsers. Is there a good mobile guide for a newbie in it like me?

My apologies for the length of the post in advance. We're working on a WAP post for COPEAC U...Here is some information that may answer some of your questions, hopefully.

    Wireless Application Protocol

What Is It and Why Does it Matter?

It is not the usability or attractive physique of Smartphones that make them so desirable to consumers of digital technology. Although these attributes help, it is truly the innovative technology that allows for Smartphones to be just as accessible to information as a PC, only simpler. The heart of a Smartphone’s internet capabilities stems from the development of the Wireless Application Protocol. Wireless Application Protocol, otherwise known as WAP, is an open international standard that allows for the access of internet connection instantly to your mobile device. It creates connection a specific way to facilitate fast delivery of information and services to mobile users. Virtually, it is a uniform technology for “cross-platform, distributed computing”. Due to the WAP, the internet industry has shifted their entire focus from our PCs to our pant pockets.

These technologically divine devices aren’t to be marveled for their millions of entertaining applications, because in reality these applications are quite inconsequential without the Wireless Application Protocol. The WAP is important because it not only transforms a website’s programming; it also transforms its appearance. Taking the site you would normally access on your PC; it shrinks, simplifies, and sends it to your Smartphone. The WAP has literally created a track for the Internet from servers to our fingertips.

    How It Works

WAP starts working when a mobile user opens a browser on their Smartphone. The mobile device searches for service by sending a radio signal to their service provider. Once the connection is made between the device and the provider and the website is chosen, a request is sent to a gateway server using WAP. The gateway server retrieves the information from the website in a text only or low graphics form of the website and encodes the data from HTTP to WML (Wireless Markup Language). The WML-encoded data is sent and appears on the mobile device and is viewed by the desired user. So essentially, WAP provides the optimization for “low-bandwidth, low-memory, and low-display capacity” settings on a Smartphone.

Isn’t it hard to think that while you are pressing one single button, your mobile device is doing all that work? Let’s relate this process to a trip to the dry cleaners. You press your internet browser button just as you would tell the dry cleaner your name. Immediately, he goes to the back of the store and tells the worker to search for your clothes as your radio signals search for service by contacting your service provider. As he passes your clothes and retrieves them from the rack, your WAP-enabled device converts the data from HTTP to WML, a compatible form, specifically for your Smartphone. Just as the dry cleaner hands you you’re perfectly pressed and starched clothes, your phone is receiving a website tailored specifically for your phone in the same manner as your clothes are for your desired wear.

    Pros and Cons of WAP

    Pros

v Mobile handset developers can build a single application that is used among diverse selection of bearers
v WAP-enabled phones increase consumer sales through mobile marketing
v Industry vendors [made up of Nokia, Motorola, AT&T, BT, and Ericsson] devote themselves to solving current technical issues as well as understanding the needs of mobile consumers
v Allows for communication on the move using text, image, position messaging capabilities, instant and mobile voice
v Provides consumer with services and entertainment no matter their location [city guides, weather, stock market, yellow pages, etc.]
v Operators can tailor menu on their mobile application or website on mobile devices to appeal to consumers
v Supports most mobile networks [ex. CDMA, BSM, PDC, PHS, TDMA, SMS, etc.]
    v Open international standards
    Cons
    v Display constraints
v Current WAP technology is insufficient, in terms of web surfing
v WAP devices are more expensive than regular mobile devices
    v Low bandwidth
    v Limited memory
v Involves “constant airtime for stand-alone or offline operations”
v Wireless Transport Layer Security (WTLS) is not completely secure
v Mobile providers require additional fees for data support

    WAP and Mobile Marketing

One of the biggest advantages of Wireless Application Protocol is the connection to a new sector in the marketing industry: mobile marketing. In 2010, there were 5.3 billion mobile device users worldwide, which is 77% of the world population, and that number is only expected to grow in years to come (mobiThinking). According to FaceBook official statistics, more than 200 million active users now access FaceBook on their mobile device. Marketers are expected to spend $11.35 billion on mobile ads in 2011. It is a no brainer for those looking for new outlets to advertise; they can easily advertise through mobile devices. Businesses can thrive on the capability of “on-location” technologies, using this feature to target certain consumers who are in the area of their respected business. Response of mobile ads is immediate for consumers who are on-the-go and carry their phones at all times. There is a higher reach when advertising on mobile devices since there twice as many cell phones than PCs worldwide. The effects of marketer’s ads will expectantly create buzz because the offers will reach consumers as they shop and/or make purchase decisions.
There are several types of WAP campaign types that are used to market to consumers on mobile devices.
v Branding: a non clickable ad that serves only to reinforce the advertiser’s brand
v Offer Based Ad: a clickable ad that typically has some type of offer
v Click to Call: an ad where a call to an advertiser (Hyatt, Delta) can be made directly
v within the context of the jump page and not through dialing the actual number
v Locator: an ad where a brick and mortar location for an advertiser (Radio Shack, Ford)
v can be identified based on proximity of the consumer or their preferred location
v Coupon: an ad where a text coupon code can be delivered
v Data Collection:An ad where an e-mail address or a phone number is collected by the advertiser in order for additional requested information (coupon, event details etc.) to be delivered to the recipient.

    WAP Campaign Operations

v Site Tagging: the process of a wireless web publisher inserting ad tags provided by a mobile campaign management platform into their content so that ads can be delivered.
v Dynamic Ad Delivery: the process of a mobile ad being delivered through a campaign management platform to a publisher’s mobile phone content based upon predetermined targeting criteria.
v Placement: the area where an ad is located within a publisher’s mobile content
v Targeting: various criteria to make the delivery of a mobile ad more precise (geographical, day parting, household income etc.)
v Tracking: the ability to assess (typically in real time) the performance of a mobile campaign
v Optimization: the process of modifying a campaign so it will perform more favorably for the advertiser
v Reporting: the results of a campaign broken down my various criteria (impressions delivered, click-through rate etc.)

I guess my real question is, how do I setup a CPA campaign exclusively to mobile? I want to use some of the mobile iq campaigns I have access to.

You can use a third party like Mobile Advertising | Buy Ads | Monetize Traffic | AdMob to buy space on wireless devices. They can set you up the same way an ad-network like Pulse-360 would get you placements on third party sites.

After reading through this thread - just to be clear - are you looking to promote mobile IQ offers as a web publisher or promote these IQ offers exclusively through mobile platforms? I know the merging terminology can be confusing...

Aside from featuring mobile IQ offers, we've also just introduced our ad serving platform for mobile devices (specifically Android), with a focus on monetizing apps via CPA. If you've got an inventory of offers you'd like to promote, you can self-serve these as an advertiser as well.

I want to advertise as advertiser. I have a few available on teh CPA networks I am a part of. I have experience in PPC, facebook, and some ppv. I am just not clear how to get these shown on mobile only devices. I know that the iq quizzes are billed thru text message so someone needs to be on smart phone. Complete quiz and submit to get a charge on their phone.

Looks like Steve's WAP guide may be of some use to you then

Are these offers moldable in terms of being able to work with banners, overlays/splash, content unlockers, etc.? This might also be a good approach for game apps if the quizzes are tailored nicely. You'll see my sig info if you need more insight as to how this could work.

I'm definitely not an ethical role-model, but after experimenting successfully with IQ tests (and other cell phone offers), I decided not to pursue them. I can't imagine that anyone really wishes to be charged so much for text messages.

In other words, I think they're a scam. Harsh words, I know, but I mostly think it's kids signing up, or people who just have no clue that they're going to be charged. Yes, I know that the tiny text is there to inform about the fee, and "buyer beware" and all that, but that doesn't make it right.

So anyway, I personally don't feel right about it, and I know that if I don't feel right about it, my subconscious mind will probably find a way for me to lose whatever money I earn I'm not condemning others for pursuing it; I'm just explaining my rational for refusing to promote these offers.

This IQ thing is probably saturated in the US, but you can get good numbers with other countries. Also, going international will probably allow you to get not only a better (it doesn't mean great) conversion rate, but also pay less per click. Just go with PPV and some second tier PPC platforms.
