The Science Of Facebook - How To Dominate The Big F

Facebook is one of the most newbie friendly traffic sources.

Is it true? I think so.

However, it doesn't mean that Facebook doesn't have a "science", some techniques that we should use in order to get good results with it.

After helping many people to get started promoting CPA offers on Facebook and also replying to many threads on this forum with questions on how to get something profitable going on that traffic source, I could see what are the most common mistakes that people make when promoting CPA offers on the big F (if we have the big G, why not the big F? ).

So I decided to create this thread with some simple tips that can help people use Facebook more efficiently. I'm sure that if you implement them on your campaigns you will start getting better results almost instantly.

1. Choose a market - If you just start picking random offers to create your campaigns you won't get profitable. You need to think about markets, not offers. Choose a niche to work with, make some research and also choose a specific audience. For example, if you will go with BizOpp, you can go with BizOpp for young people who are trying to pay for college, moms who want to work from home, retired people who are looking for an extra stream of income, etc... There are many possibilities and you need to know exactly who you will promote offers to. Just after conducting some tests and learning about your market you will be able to understand it and, therefore, get profitable. If you never learn about a market you will never make decent money.

2. Don't sell stuff on Facebook - Promoting free trials and CPS offers on Facebook with direct linking isn't a good idea, unless you are a master on that traffic source (and it still wouldn't be easy). Start with free lead generation offers.

3. Go international - Is it possible to make money on Facebook targeting the US? Yes, sure. Is it easy. Nope. So go international and you will get lower cost per click and less saturation. And when I say international I actually mean non-english speaking countries, because the difference between the US and the other big ones, CA, UK and AU isn't big.

4. Use the interests wisely - You won't succeed on Facebook if you just use demographics and ignore the interests. Target very specific audiences, create ads around interests and be as specific as possible.

5. Test... But do it right - Everybody says that testing is essential, and it's 100% correct, but you need to know how to test. Don't simply throw many ads, promote 2 or 3 offers and wait for the money. It won't come. Test ads keeping an eye on the CTR, when you find a winner replicate it (create variations) and kill the losers. Test offers and audiences watching the conversion rate for each offer with each audience. Find out what people want and give it to them. Pay close attention to the numbers and know exactly what's going on, not just create ads and promote offers without knowing what to do next.

6. OPTIMIZE - Most people seem to forget about optimization and, therefore, they fail. Hardly a campaign will profitable right from the beginning, so you should create your ads get some traffic and think is this campaign profitable? You should think can this campaign become profitable after I optimize it? Optimizing involves several things, but, basically, what you want to do is find the exact demographics that give you a good converion rate and then find ads that can give you a high CTR, which will give you a low CPC. Low CPC + high conversion rate = profits.

7. Consider capturing leads - Facebook is a great platform to capture leads. You can build laser targeted lists and cover your expenses quickly. If you want to build a long-term business you should definetely consider capturing leads. It's also a good strategy to promote free trial and CPS offers. A good thank you page and a powerful autoresponder series can give you an amazing ROI!

It's not everything about Facebook, but these simple tips can save you a lot of time, money and effort. So make sure that you use them and your learning curve with Facebook will be much shorter.

      The idea is start targeting a very specific audience, because in the beginning the goal is always test the campaign and turn a positive ROI (the volume comes later). However, once you get profitable you can start going broader and scale your campaign to a high level.

      Facebook has over 500 million people actively using their social network, so the potential of the platform is huge, you just have to "crack the code".

      Yes, I think that they have more pageviews than Google in the US since March 2010.

    Trying to direct link is a true science and the best way I can recommend someone to do this is target high traffic areas. It's a few clicks but it gets the link noticed.
