You shouldn't drive traffic directly to the offer, to me that's a big mistake unless you are in it for the short run. You should establish your own site to place the offers on and try to build organic traffic to the site along with social bookmarking, article marketing, just build backlinks and you should be good. If you can get targeted traffic to your site based on keyword research then you'll convert well. If you want really cheap PPC traffic try 7search as a Adword alternative.

Can't agree less, niche short term offers and new offers from networks, can be highly profitable and by establishing a site you will need longer time frames. Direct to offer will always be a means for success you just have to dig hard enough to find the gold.

CPA campaigns are often limited in time and also modified and changed as time goes by. To build a site and promote it with SEO to get organic traffic will be time consuming and probably give you less profit.

Here's what I would do: Start by driving traffic directly to the offer. Once you have a good converting offer, start capturing the leads yourself and start promoting similar CPA offers via email

I often use SEO to get people onto a landing page and then on to a CPA offer that I'm promoting. Also Facebook ads, but these can be expensive (still good though).

I mainly use PPV - my favorite traffic source. Pretty easy and straightforward. I love it.

PPV worked well for me in the past, but took a lot of effort to control and maintain the campaigns.

SEO is now the preffered choice, just from the fact that once the traffic is flowing, it is fairly consistant and ongoing....

It seems that the majority are using Paid traffic to generate traffic to their CPA offers .

100% onpage seo here. I'm just now getting around to creating a bunch of banners to throw at media buys, part buy and part exchange.

How is it going and what kind of offers are you promoting? I never promote email/zip offers via seo (the ROI is too low). Only things I can review and $15+ payout. Do you feel you would make more if you started to focus more on paid traffic? I like seo as well, but it's slower. So I'm trying to do like a social media/seo combo.

I hear that using PPV as a means to generate leads and sending those visitors to a one time offer helps

I personally use twitter, but I know of a method with Google Adwords that can get clicks for as low as 0.02 and sometimes 0.01

    Depends on what offers.

There are a lot of offers directed at children, so making a children site is how I'd send traffic to those offers.

You can also use adwords, but it can get expensive quick!

PPV is growing on a lot of people. I would suggest you jumping on the PPV train!

I have a website but why wouldn't i drive offers to the direct affiliate link. That way i know they are viewing it.

      PPV just doesnt sound right

I agree the pay per view/impression/etc is becoming increasingly more attractive.

Apparenly Google thinks so... it just bought a CPM ad optimizer called Admeld for 400m

(see tech crunch article... I dont have enough posts to link yet)

The only reason would be if you have a niche specific website which the visitors would gain value from and return to, or if you capture the leads before forwarding them to the CPA offer. However, it's always a good idea to start with driving traffic direct to the offer, to see if it's converting in the first place.
