Banner or PPC for CPA?

Hi all I am pretty much a newbie to CPA and am trying to figure out the best way to start generating some decent income from CPA. I have read a really crappy WSO and then a good one by kenster about CPA. Kenster mentioned a lot of free methods that I am currently trying and plan on trying.

But I would be more than willing to also implement paid traffic. My only problem is it seems that I am pretty late to the PPC party with CPA because of the recent changes with google and everyone getting their campaigns banned. So what I am wondering is if banner ads are any different and if they can be targeted like PPC and produce great results. Or if banner ads are pretty hard for newbie's and take a lot of time to master?

I know that I am not going to be able to really hit the ground running so to speak with any campaign, and that all campaigns take refining until you get a good one. I just don't really want to use PPC only to have my campaign be shut down right in the middle of finding out what is starting to work and what isn't. I want to invest my ad dollars into something I can grow with and know that some company like google cannot just shut me down over night.

Does anyone here use banners for CPA offers with great results? Is there any smarter ways to do PPC with CPA, or more lenient companies out there to do PPC with that still produce a large amount of quality traffic other than google?
Thanks for the help.

    Hello Mobread,
Running banner ads on google could get you band as fast as direct linking to a campaign.
You can run banner ad when you get a campaign with good CTR as text ad.
As you said most of big search engines is going against affiliates this days so you need to be well prepared with a good landing page.

Try with Microsoft Adcenter, but don't do direct linking, and create a good landing page. They have good traffic. You can also try facebook PPC or yahoo.

      Agreed.
You'd better set up Google friendly landing pages when trying to promote affiliate products via Adwords.

Banner/Display/Media buy is great if you could test out some winning offers on CPC basis and you're sure they're gonna work on CPM.

    Hi mobread,

Look, it is never late to jump in to PPC. Most newbies think that PPC is something that is not suitable for them! This is wrong. As long as you have the requirements you are able to earn lots of money from PPC. I'd recommend just hang around this forum to get more information about the market. PPC needs money and probably you need $1000 initially to learn how to make money using PPC traffic.

Getting a mentor is another way. There are a few promising mentoring program out there.

You can also learn it yourself by testing any idea that comes to your mind. Just go to the websites that show PPC ads and spy them for a couple of weeks. Get the idea and test it yourself.

Whatever method you choose you have to stick with it, never give up until you see results. Maybe it will take 3 months for you to earn your first dollar but when you master it you are going to be a professional internet marketer. Jumping from one method to another is what most of newbies do.

Thanks guys and I have heard that MS ad center is more lenient than adwords. I think I may have misused some words. What I meant was like using companies like advertise.com or something that would place banner ads on other websites similar to the offer you are promoting.

I am not sure if this is called “media buys” and am not sure if I am using the word banner correctly. I think what I meant was display ads.

If you are new to media buys, I advice that you first try direct media buys. Because it is where you enter the world of media buys cheaply .
