Banned from Facebook Ads: Need help!

I was recently banned from Facebook Ads for "Suspicious Payment Activity".
I have no idea how this happened as I was using my real Facebook profile, with all my real information and debit card to fund my account.

I always paid my balance on time and never got any emails from Facebook warning me about anything.

In the email telling me my ad manager was disabled, they said, "this decision is final."

I find this very weird that they would not say anything about why this happened.

So the bottom line is: Does anyone have a solution for me?

Thanks a lot guys!

Calm down and keep following because once you are black listed it does take time to come back to track... expect it to take a few weeks (or may be a month to get resolved).

BTW, just curious what kind of Ads were you running? You should try our network :: ellipsisadnet.com ; I can introduce you to publishers who will charge as low as $1/day for advertising! And it's completely transparent.

It's weird, because I was banned for "Suspicious Payment Activity."

If anyone has a "secret" solution to this, I'm willing to pay them!

Yes, I contacted them but they said they can't give details due to their terms or something like that.

I have heard of others. I think one person did manage to resolve the situation by talking to a support desk.

If it happens on Google forget it.

You need to be proactive about it and communicate with them diplomatically.

If you explain your view and situation as per what you've mentioned in your post, then I'm sure there would be opportunity for a reevaluation of their current decision.

Communication without malice will work for you, and keeping a level head and a polite tone will win you points. I'm not talking about crawling and begging, but it always pays to tread very carefully and take the lower seat when presenting this sort of situation.

    Just a few thoughts.

    Good luck!

FB can be a bitch when it comes to this kind of stuff. About 4 months ago they banned a ton of people for advertising certain offers (Flirt and BeNaughty apps). This is a bit different as they are talking about payment activity.

In my experience this happens for a number of reasons (though this could be due to something I've not seen). The biggest reason is their interpretation of your payment source. Meaning, if you have a card you are using that has a name that does not match the name you entered on your account or doesn't match the location/region, they will flag this. This has been the biggest cause of these that I've seen.

Were you using a credit card with a different name (i.e. spouse's card, etc)? You can try to contact them and instead of asking for the reason, explain this situation if this is the case. If that doesn't work you can always setup another account. You'll need to a different IP address, clear the browser cache, cookies, everything, and a new credit card from a different person/name. You could also use virtual credit cards, etc.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

I was using a profile under my real name, and was using my own credit card to make the payments. My billing location was also the same as where I was logging in. I heard that virtual credit cards don't work on Facebook any longer.

I think you're right about the VCC route (never did that myself, just remember talking to some fellow FB advertisers who tried them).

Interesting that everything lined up with the names, addresses, etc, that is the case many times but obviously not here. I'll do some digging, but it sounds like creating a new account under a different name might be your best bet. Do you have any family or anyone who'd be willing to let you do this on their account/card?

open a new account, this time use paypal, FB can't track down your debit/credit card though PP system. And if you are serious about it, rent a PO box and try another different address. Right now I have like 4 addresses available and I can switch them whenever I like
also, don't bother to talk to them again, their decision is final, and that's it, nothing else to change.

I read the guidelines and honestly thought I was abiding by them. Apparently not. Yesterday my two ad accounts were disabled. I set up a bunch of ads yesterday to promote a webinar and they were disapproved. At first I couldn't find a way to edit these ads, so in the end I just created one new ad to see if it would go through, and...wham...

The frustrating part is not knowing what my wrongdoing is in the eyes of FB, and consequently I cannot learn or improve upon my experience. If somehow I had already sinned in the eyes of the FB Inquisition, then why in Google's name did they approve my earlier ads in the first place? And if yesterday's ads triggered the ban, well actually it were six variations from one ad, the only difference being the target interest.

At one point I got the same message as the thread starter about "suspicious activity", which keeps me in total darkness too.

So anyway, bummer! I'll have to look into the new IP solution, there's always a way to get a new account I'm sure, but like with the Google slap (still waiting for that one) since I'm not allowed to learn and improve I will probably start worrying about making the same mistakes.

Maybe someone who really knows what he's doing should start a screening service...

Facebook seems to train their people poorly. I ran the same ad in three countries with no problem. The 4th country came back disapproved for 3 different reasons (all invalid:excuses like it's digital delivery so how do we know you gave it to them)

Your account was not suspended for "Suspicious Payment Activity". Your account was suspended because your ads violated their TOS on several occasions. For some reason when you go to check your ad manager, you receive "suspicious payment activity" error.

I know from my personal experience!

Yup! A few days ago, I was banned for violating TOS, and it shows suspicious payment activity, which is definitely not the case.

I wrote a long, courteous email to FB requesting they reinstate my account. I'll keep all posted, but I'm pretty certain, I'll be going the 'alternate' IP/email/PP route.

          i was banned yesterday

i opened a brand new FB account in my real name (why because there is no way on earth i trust facebook these days if i use my old account with 500 plus friends. they dont care so im not losing that due to their monkeys)

I had exact same credit card, name and address (matching)
Everything was perfect, profile pic was also me...

what did i do that may have caused me a ban?

well i added a 50usd credit which i got on fiverr (is that fraudulent? absolutely not)

After 2 hours, i get an email saying my account has been upgraded to spend more. After 3 hours i get email to say acc closed please send gov ID

i sent my passport, which again matched exactly to my FB ID, Credit card, and everything else.

very very frustrating that FB has become so bad.

I would say try to fight your case with facebook first. But most of the time that doesn't work, they have a history along with google of banning people for weird reasons only known to them.

The next solution is to create a new account. Don't know if you need a VPN because I've never been banned.

FB may ban accounts when there is something wrong with their payment method. If it's not your name on the CC or Paypal account being used to fund your FB account, this may be the cause of the ban.

However, if you contact them and fix what's wrong they may enable your account again.

It happened a few times with my students but they always got their accounts back.

      I had the same problem.

after a few emails, they told me I was using a multiple accounts (which I did) and that the decision was final. So yea, I fuc*ed up

The moral: don't use multiple accounts for shady stuff if you are gonna use fb ads later.
