.us domains, worth it?

I realize that domain endings dont effect SEO, but will a .us domain effect my affiliate marketing conversions (im promoting my product to the US market only)

Probably not but the only thing it may heard is word of mouth... 99% of people still say of yeah go to fgdfgdsf.com instead of sgeage.us

I still personally like .com's best
