How to find a good ppv company

I have done some ppc with some success making some money and heard about ppv a while back and gave it a try. 300 dollars later and nothing to show for it. I ran adds for 3 different things and made nothing. I even made nothing on the same things I was making money on with ppc so here is my question. How do I know which ppv company is any good. In short the ppv company I did go with said the offer free software to people in exchange for them to be shown adds related to the search subject when they do a search. But my question is if the ppv company shows a lot of really bad adds and really bad sites could the people being shown the adds get used to seeing crappy sites and just not look and the new ones shown. I say this because then I ran my adds for about 3 months I was getting around 500 or so views a day sounds great right but when checking google for my stats not one of the 500 views even stayed on the site so I was getting 500 views which no one looked at the site for even 1 second. So how does one know what kind of ppv company to go through. How can I do research to know who has the best conversion rates overall. Thanks Mark

You've hit on a number of important points to look at within your post so I'm going to break it down and try and answer your questions.

Here is a major point that many people tend to assume and overlook, you have to modify your adverts, copy, images all oer again for every single new traffic platform you invest money in to. For exampe, just because your ad is converting well with PPC does not mean it will work on PPV, it's a whole different ballgame, same as transitioning ads from Facebook to POF or any transition.

Have respect for the new traffic source and start from the ground up as you would any other campaign, don't expect immediate success with converting ads from other platforms.

Same thing as quoted above, don't expect success.
Also because PPV is a new venture for you I suggest picking one offer (ensuring it is performing well on PPV by asking your AM) and just work at it solidly, test different landing pages, images, copy, keywords/urls.

Run a small test and optimise from there.

A lot of ads that other publishers run on PPV will be pretty bad ads, most publishers will put out redictable and generic ads in the hope of converting and in the process just bores viewers.

This is the game of PPV marketing, it is interruption marketing, you literally have to kick your viewer up the ass and wake them out of ad blindness, I prefer to use shock tactics with PPV. You can't be predictable or generic.

You need to be able to assess who your offer is targeted to and what state of mind they are going to be in when searching the internet for a solution. Once you can get into their mindset you can strategically place your advert smack bang in front of their eyes, offering them a solution to their problem/need before they even know they're specifically looking for one.

Don't immediately think just because you have attained a certain number of views or spent a certain amount of money that you are owed anything, don't immediately blame a poor cpv network because of a lack of conversions. I know many who have invested good money ito TrafficVance (regardded as the best network out there) and wasted good money putting out poor ads, poor copy and not sticking to one campaign.

Paud traffic needs discipline and deep pockets, you stated you are having success with PPC and I'm sur ethat didn't come overnight, appl the same mindset with PPV, start right from scratch again. If you are concerned the network you've worked with had poor visitors then simply read the net for reviews and opinions of others who have experience and establish first whether it was the network or just your ads.

If you can replicate the success you are having with PPC with PPV then you can scale campaigns and take your earnings to the next level.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks for all the info and advice and yes I did start from scratch with my ppv adds and tried to do what the ppv company suggested. Also like you said I did test. I ran adds for about 3 months but while I was testing I was also thinking how can I know if one test add it better then another when no one and I do mean no one was staying on my site to look at it with any of the ads. I get more people from forum post to look over the pages. Maybe it requires a different technique for doing ppv but I just couldn't afford to keep doing it. At least with the ppc stuff I was at least making what I was spending so I was breaking even and now I make money but was looking for a less expensive way to do it.

With ppc the profits just aren't there nor is percentages I want. Right now if I want to make 100 dollars profit I have to spend 1000. and I don't want to sell 1100 dollars of product to make 100 I don't want to make the ad companies rich while I struggle so I am looking for something cheaper.
