Email vs Zip Submits - Which is Better?

People interested in CPA marketing will have various types of offers to promote. Two of the most common types are email and zip submits. These two types of offers can provide you with some of the highest conversion rates. However, you may be wondering which one is better to sign up for?

That can be a hard question since both types can yield excellent results. Both types are much more simple than filling out long form or signing up for a free trial offer in which they'll have to give their credit card number. You'll get paid whenever someone fills out a form with a valid zip code or email address.

However, you'll find that zip submits can be much more versatile. They can be used for virtually any type of offer within a given area. You can promote television sets, shopping sprees, and many other types of products and services.

When comparing email and zip submits, you'll likely find that the latter offers even higher conversion rates. When someone fills out their zip code, it's not really information that can be used to identify them.

This certainly isn't the case if they give out their email address since they're the only one in the world that uses it. Zip submits are also even easier to fill out, since visitors only have to press five keys and click the submit button.

You should know that the payout with both of these types of CPA offers will vary. On average though, you can expect to make about $1.50 each time a visitor you refer gives the advertiser their email address or zip code. Plenty of marketers opt to promote higher-paying offers once they gain experience and traffic to their websites. But if you're just starting out, this can be the best way to go.

Now i ask you warriors, Which one do you prefer? and why?

          Email,

Simply put if a visitor is willing to give their email for a free product then I can capture that lead and sell to them over and over again.

They do, but the payout is usually less and you can't monetise a zip code in the future.

I have the perfect method for Email Submits.
I won't share ofcourse because i'm releasing it on WSO after i finish the product.
But i find that email submit offers are less personal that zip offers.
Email offers are more anonymous, zip code offers means they have to give up there location identity to a random company or person on the internet.
Stick with email submits, they're simple easy & people are more tend to do them.

Yeah, Guilcoelho, Your post is right, people prefer less private information unless there like the offer you gave to them.

Guys, they are all the same thing. They are co-reg incent funnels. Just because its a zip sub doesn't mean they never enter the email. The zip just gets them warmed up so they feel more comfortable entering their data in the next few steps in the funnel. Scrubbing will almost always happen. its built in to the offer. Unless your running it exclusively, you will get scrubbed.

Some offers convert on zip submit and others on email. We're talking about which one converts better.

        hahaha, thanks for clarifying.

No serious, It may be true a zip converts better. A pixel does not fire when someone puts in a zip code for crying out loud. They go down a path.

Just saying I think most of you are missing what makes a submit work. But that is all.

Just had to point it out =)

i see where your coming from
but I still think it is more important to know which one people see more success in, if you know what i mean.

Most if not all "zip submits" from peerfly that i've used are actually short form submits converting on the second page submit. Which is actually a short form asking for name, address, details ect. That said most are $2-2.50 and convert at about the same rate as the same offer in email sub form. This is just my personal experience.

Those would be our short form or registration offers. We have zip submits that pay on the first page submit as well.

We've found that at PeerFly overall our publishers see similar results with our zip code and email submit offers. It really all depends on the angle you take when marketing the offer. For some approaches asking the user for their zip code will convert better than email, but for others it's the opposite.

My suggestion is always to split test and don't forget about the short form/registration offers! If your visitors are not only putting in their email/zip, but also completing the second page and pushing their way down the offer path you need to switch over your links so you can get paid for it

        I agree with you Luke
Split testing is really the only way to find out which one performs better.
Theirs not one definite answer. It all depends on the way you're promoting the offer so you have test and find out what works out best!

Split testing is the ONLY WAY TO officially tell which one will convert better. I think overall Zips convert a little better. Then again a lot of people neglect the optimizations methods because they already think it will convert.

        I think Luke said everything.

It all depends on the offer, traffic and approach/angle, so split-testing is probably the best bet.

I thought it was a tutorial, and when I read the last sentence, I found out that it was actually a question.

Nonetheless, it's a great post, and although very familiar with people who are in CPA, someone like me can learn something from it.

Based on what I have read (don't have any experience with it yet) I think zips are better.

That seems to be the majority vote. Less personal than emails, so it converts better.
