======> Any downside to iFraming a CPA offer?

Hi Warriors,

I'm experienced in Lead Gen for offline businesses with an emphasis on organic SEO, but I thought I might take a dive into the CPA world.

I've been accepted to a network that DOES allow 100% iFrame of a CPA offer. My question for you CPA masters is what are some of the downsides I should be aware of in regards to 100% iFrame? - The first thing that comes to mind is tracking clicks...but maybe I'm wrong.

Much Appreciated,

Shockwave

  • as a network owner myself, I can say that the network you are working with is probably allowing this without the advertiser's knowledge or they are the advertiser on the offers you are iframing. As a general rule no offer is allowable to be iframed, as the advertiser's usually get a bit pissy when they find your landing pages.

Because most the time the Lander page and the iframed offer have nothing to do with each other. So the advertiser's get non-targeted or non-interested leads. Also another downside is the User doesn't have a chance to go through the path-way which alot of advertiser's (especially email/zip submit offers) use to help offset the cost of the conversion and earn a bit more.

I've heard sometimes cookies can drop when iframing, resulting in lost $$ if you are promoting cpa offers

Not sure about the dropped cookies like Chris said but some network offers do not allow it if I remember correctly. I would just ask your AM and see what insight they have on the issue.

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it. I don't want to overthink this, but here is the situation.

    1. The particular network I'm speaking of is a HIGHLY respected network.

    2. I asked the AM if I am allowed to do a 100% iframe of the offers in this network. The AM's response was: "Yes, you can iframe as long as you iframe 100% of the landing page. Tracking and everything will be fine as long as you iframe your affiliate link. The only drawback is that some advertisers will not approve an iframed page. Most do not even notice though."

That said, what would you do in this situation? I've looked at the specific offers that I want to promote and NONE of them say anything (or have any restrictions) on iFraming within the description of the offer.

My other question is if you decide to do a 100% iFrame - is there anyway to track visitors to it? (I'm talking about my own tracking method - not that of the network). I'm only familiar with Google Analytics, but clearly with an iFrame that doesn't seem like a feasible option.

    Thoughts?

I actually asked my campaign manager that question.

    here my question

"Campaign 4121 cought my attention.. Am I Allowed to set up an IFRAME with my own link, so custoemrs can fill out the two fields on my page instead of clicking to another page?"
    adn heres their answer.

    Hey Carl,

Glad you are getting serious again!

You can iframe our offers but it must be 100% iframing and you can cut anything out or add anything to the landing page. It must appear as it does on the regular landing page.

    Thanks,
    This was from Maxbounty network!

    Hope that helps anyone!

I'm running an iframe offer now from MB and have had no problems. I asked my AM and he said everything checks out.
I personally like I framing because adwords ranks the page very highly for the targeted keyword.

Just a clarification here. The AM made a typo in there. They should have said you CANNOT cut anything out or add anything to the landing page.

100% iframes are fine because all of the merchant's regpath continues to work and nothing is cut-off. The surfer can't tell the difference from the 100% iframed page and the actual merchant landing page.

100% iframing is valid and is neither grey nor black hat. It's typically used to improve quality scores.

Be careful with this, I know of instances where the affiliate was given permission by an AM, (who then left the company), and the affiliate was not paid any commissions for iframing.

It's too tempting to do something bad like only iframe the form part which is toally not allowed.

Quit a few networks allow iFraming, but only 100%. So long as it's 100% your normally good to go. just don't go down the CakeSlice route. as mentioned by Chris you may get issues regarding cookies.

I prefer to iFrame simply because it can look so much better in the nav bar.
