Offer Testing Methodologies

I've been reading through lots of posts in the CPA forum, and haven't really found a lot on how people like to test offers to see which ones convert.

I'd love to hear how you test multiple offers to find the ones that convert before building out around them to maximize profitability. I'm starting to over-think and spin my wheels.

Naturally, niche research and conversations with affiliate managers come first.

Each of these methods have pluses and minuses. My goal is to find converting offers without investing too much time and money.

Once I find offers that convert, I'll spend lots of both!

Here's what I came up with:

  1. Direct linking from banner ads to a cpa offer (not a fan of second tier PPC networks). Careful on this one to hand-pick the sites, placement, etc. and write a good insertion order.
  2. Build a small niche site where I can test multiple cpa offers one-at-a-time and drive PPC traffic. Once I know what offers convert with what keywords, build out a bigger site with multiple related offers (mindful of the sales funnels for each offer) and add additional traffic sources.
  3. Build a landing page specific to each offer (somewhat disposable if the offer doesn't convert) and test with PPC. Add water if it converts...

Would you do any of these? None of these? How do you test the offer?
