Are third party email ad senders legit? Could I just purchase a bulk email on a specific niche of their list and make profit?

Personally, I myself would not recommend you go near a bulk email provider, but maybe others will offer you a different opinion.

I think you'd be better off here in WF JV section finding a new friend with a list that is NOT blasted all day every day - from anyone who pays them their fee (i.e. public bulk mail service).

I looked all over the place to find a legit email list but I found that if you pay a place to send for you then you are never sure what and who they sent out the emails to and if you do it yourself it is going to cost you big to have tons of domains that are not linked to your page. If you send out from your domain and get flagged as a spammer then they will suspend your domain and that could bring your site down.

If i was you i would start with building small list from free traffic or from solo ads. soon you hit good few hundred subscribers you can start doing adswaps.

Great, but none of you answered the question at hand. Has anyone even attempted it, or do people follow the circlejerk here and just downsize it just because its the word around town?

I'd rather set up my own just to make sure that everything is going okay and don't have to rely on outsiders.

I would go for solo ads or adswaps! There is a brilliant WSO out called Solo Ad Revolution - check it out forshore!
