How to advertise on a i-phone game / app like Angry Birds?

Hi,

I want to know how to advertise our banner / marketing message on an apple iphone game or app, similar to the advert you get when playing Angry Birds.

I think Angry Birds is a standalone ad network run directly by the makers of the game so I have gone directly to rovio, but what about other games and apps.

Basically we have an apple iphone warranty service and we want to show an offer to all apple iphone owners, any thoughts on how to do this via apps / games. Eventually we will target android users.

My instinct says we will get alot of impressions but low CTR as someone will not want to visit a site if they are playing a game, but we just want to test the waters with £500 budget.

Let me know your thoughts.

Steven

Hi, you can try places like this AdMob | Promote Apps | Monetize Traffic | Measure Performance I'm not sure if you can advertise on angrybirds from there but you can definately on others.

Yeah admob is owned by google and is a pain to work with. The payout is also pretty paltry. However, they are the most widely used ad network for iphones. Try also Mellenia ads.

If you're looking for a banner ad, please PM me and we can work something out. I've made several apps, most of which are games, and I am launching another one next week. Send me a message and we'll work something out.

I would be careful with that as you are looking for app traffic as that can have a lot of clicks by mistake as they will come up during game play. I would look to banner or text traffic if your going the mobile route.

    Hi Tpad,

Basically, the sort of traffic you are referring to is called “in-app” traffic, and it’s a really good way to advertise on mobile.

Alternatively you can advertise on WAP as well, as in mobile advertising there is much more intricate targeting options, for example targeting iphones only,
In mobile advertising in general, most ad-networks currently work on a CPC basis anyway, so you don’t really have to worry about the amount of impressions, the networks will buy on CPC and can optimize towards your CTR, or even better towards the performance and the call of action you are aiming to achieve.

    Happy holidays!
