Hi. I want to post my articles on wordpress.com blog(free). I had read that they don't allow marketing of any kind on there blog and they will delete the blog. So is it true? If yes then how can you promote your offer such as banner on free wordpress blog. cheers.

Well if they say they dont allow ads/marketing then it will be like they say. But why dont you host your site with wordpress.org? Its just 15$ per year but you can do with it whatever you want

Yes it's true. It's not allowed to advertise on wp.com

It's better just to buy your own domain and hosting, you get what you pay for.. once you have this you can host a wordpress site on your own domain

You can use Blogger for advertisements if you want to go the free route. I agree with everyone else, buying your own is better in the long run, but if you really want free then you have to go with Blogger for this.

Do not use hosted website to run your affiliate business. You never know when your account will get confiscated by WordPress. It is always better to have a self-hosted domain, and if you are tight on cash, try buying .INFO domain, works good for SEO

I also recommend to use blogger, you can put cpa ads and adsense. but the best way is to bulid a site using wordpress on your own domain and hosting.

It's better to get youself a private domain. You don't necesarilly have to buy one, you can get a free domain at dot.tk and install Wordpress on it. On this private domain you can do whatever you want and post as many affiliate links as you only wish

Very old topic, but they still don't allow it.
This is from their website: "While most affiliate links and sponsored posts are allowed on WordPress.com, we do not allow image ads or third-party advertising networks like Google AdSense, OpenX, Lijit, BuySellAds, and Vibrant Media." (Advertising — Support — WordPress.com)

      Affiliate Links

"Most affiliate links for reputable merchants are welcome on WordPress.com. Feel free to post relevant affiliate links when blogging about books you’re reading, music you love, clothes that strike your fancy, gadgets you’re drooling over, or whatever is of interest to you and your readers.
We hope affiliate programs help you earn a financial reward for all the hard work you’ve invested in your blog. However, because we’re dedicated to keeping unwanted commercial messages from cluttering the WordPress.com experience, there are some restrictions in place that you should be aware of.
      • Sites whose primary purpose is to drive traffic to affiliate storefronts, rather than creating original content, will be banned as spam. Promoting affiliate links through comments or the support forums is also considered spam. Such activity is a violation of our Terms of Service.
      • We do not allow any image with an affiliate link. If you’re interested in making money from this type of ad, check out our WordAds program. You can read more about our advertising policies here.
      • Affiliate ads for gambling, get-rich-quick schemes, multi-level marketing programs, disreputable merchants, or pornography are prohibited.
If you have received a warning or suspension for violating these guidelines and would like to appeal it, please use the links in the red banner placed in your Dashboard to contact us."

You have to read between the lines here, this here should answer your question:
      1. Provide original content
      2. Use 'contextual' links
      (meaning hyperlinks in the content)

Hey! I've been using wordpress for posting free blogs. I don't think that they wont allow marketing of any kind. Been seeing some marketing posts there and I don't think they would delete it. Just try it. There's no harm on trying!

Heaven forbid that you should ever actually read the Terms of Service there, and get a clue what you're talking about.
